I'm from California, USA. I'm studying abroad in Rome and exploring other European cities on my free time. I enjoy shopping, cooking, trying new foods, and site seeing.
Stephanie and her friend seem to be nice girls.
I think my experience with them is not very good because it was their first time traveling and using Airbnb so they didn't think about some basic things.
About the cleaning (one of my rules is to leave the apartment as clean as you found it when you checked in), the floor was dirty and so was the sink in the bathroom, but as I saw them before they left, I told them to clean up and so they did.
I guess they had a little problem with communication: as I told them, if there is anything wrong or missing you should try to talk with your host as soon as it happens. They were cold and needed extra sheets, instead of telling me about it they helped themselves without my permission. Same for extra towels. It's not a big deal, but it's disrespectful to seek into people's things without asking, and at the end it's extra work for me. Telling it when you leave is kind of too late..
Same, i hadn't told in my apartment description that as i have a cat, even if he's not here when i rent the apartment, alergic people might be bothered because even if the place is clean furs stays. It is my fault of course, but instead of telling me when they realized that it was an issue, they waited till the end of the stay and expected we would find an arrangement about the price. I would have payed them back part of the price and the medication if they had told me about it when they arrived or even used the Airbnb system, but it is to late at the end of a stay !
But again, I think they understood that respecting the rules the host gives and communication is very important, and they will be more careful next time ! They are polite girls, it's just the youth and inexperience !
