Genevieve, from Victoria, and Daniel from Nova Scotia, decided to buy land in Cowichan after working aboard a motor yacht that was doing a global circumnavigation. Not having money to go alone, we teamed up with Daniel's sister Zena and her then-partner Zane (name similarity completely coincidental!) and purchased 10 lovely acres in the mountains of south Cowichan. Over the past 7 years we transformed the broom-filled property into an eco-oasis, with a stunning earthen house, gardens, greenhouse, and several outbuildings. We have a mandate of sorts to promote the arts and music and all of us play music somehow or other. We host house concerts and jamborees and our collective resume includes: dance (contemporary, West African, flamenco, etc), theatre, counseling, buto, sculpture, natural building, culinary arts, herbology, environmental policy, banjo, singing, guitar, bass, fiddle........ Our 4 rambunctious boys enjoy the nature that is the background of our lives, as well as the many people we welcome regularly into our home.
