I had an excellent stay at Maria's apartment. She was working when I arrived, but her husband met me at the apartment and let me in. He and their daughters were very welcoming and accommodating. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The building was quiet, and the location was fabulous.
Before I talk about the place, I must say that they charge a one-time $75 cleaning fee on top of the nightly rate. I can't find any mention of this fee in their description, so I find that a little dishonest.
The place is big and pretty clean, although we showed up and there were no towels and no toilet paper. I told Maria, and her husband came later that evening with the goods. There's very little furniture -- literally just what you see in the pictures.
The toilet was semi-broken -- the water would just run and run unless you opened the back lid and pulled up on the thingy. Also, the showerhead fell on my head during my first shower. Maybe that was some prank from the last renter.
Other than the few things mentioned above, the place was fine and quite private. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the un-mentioned cleaning fee. Not cool, guys.
The apartment was incredibly spacious and clean, which I very much appreciated. It was also cozy and warm. Maria and her husband were attentive and helpful, checking in immediately to ensure I had everything I needed. The only issue I had was that it was a bit noisy at night, but then again I am a very light sleeper. There was some work being done on the street and the heater made some noise once in a while so that I had to lower it completely in the bedroom. Luckily it was still warm without it. I would recommend (if you're a light sleeper like me) using earplugs. Other than that, Inwood was a cool neighborhood with lots of cafes and an easy ride into Manhattan.
Location: Perfect, just five minutes from the subway and about 25 min from Times Square.
Apartment: clean, sufficient to spend a few days there.
The apartment was great, it was spacious and in a nice quiet neighbourhood. The A subway line is literally around the corner, approx 40mins to Times Square or 20 mins if you get an express. There are quite a few shops close to the subway station and really nice Dunkin Donuts to get coffee\ breakfast. The wifi was strange as in you could not access any websites, only apps. Other than that the place was great, I would stay here again if I got the chance to visit NYC again!
The appartment was good!
The subway is not far at all and the line goes to central parc/Time square.
We enjoyed our stay.
The appartment is big, and we had a lot of space and light!
We utilized Maria's beautiful apartment for my husband to have a study oasis before his comprehensive exams for he PhD. The apartment was clean, quiet, had good WIFI and Maria and her father were extremely helpful. They even went out of their way to make sure we received an item he left behind. We would recommend staying at Maria's place to anyone needing a place to stay in Inwood. Thank you, Maria!
It was easy to get to the apartment with the subway. The apartment was bigger as expected. The wifi didn't work, but Maria and her husband tried to solve the problem. My family and I had a good time!
