Book this apartment! You will be amazed! Imagine an ancient walled city. Your home? On the second floor above a creperie, no less, on a cobble stoned road.
Solen's home is beautiful, larger than it appears in the pictures and has everything you need. There is a coffee maker, kettle, and a toaster in the kitchen. She left tons of maps and tourist information for us. The home was spotless and simply perfect.
What truly stands out is Solen's artistic flair and attention to detail. Towels wrapped in ribbons, a bottle of cider with 2 beautiful champagne glasses along with Bretagne cookies, chocolates and nuts all beautifully arranged.
After a long drive it was like arriving at an Oasis.
Unfortunately we had a few mishaps that day and arrived much later than expected. Solen went to great lengths to ensure we were able to pick up the keys just a short block away.
We can't say enough good things about Solen, her lovely home, and attention to detail. Prepare to be spoiled and enjoy The magical city of Dinan.
Solen made us very very welcome, and all of the little touches she provided really made the difference - it was lovely to have fresh flowers, chilled cider and aperos for us, and we really appreciated the juice and milk, and eggs from her chickens - thank you, Solen! The apartment was just as described, and all very comfortable and easy to use. The location could not have been better, and it was a real pleasure to step outside the door straight into the heart of the town. Solen gave us good advice about parking, and places to eat. When a minor problem arose (not Solen's fault!) she dealt with it straight away.
Dinan is a charming town and the house is in the heart of it, it is lovely and pretty decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped.
Solen is great and kind host, she was helpful with us when we arrived there.
I strongly recommend her!
Wow! This apartment is on the most wonderful cobblestone street, overlooking great bars, restaurants and shops. It's immaculately clean and cozily decorated.
Even better was having Solen as a hostess. She welcomed us with local cider and a baguette. She helped us find parking (for free!) and offered advice on how to spend our time. She even helped us clear up a minor snafu with a hotel we had stayed in previously, since we don't speak French or have a French cell phone.
Solen is charm personified. I speak French pretty well, but certainly didn't need to with Solen--her English is impeccable. She met us promptly, and smartly had us use the keys to the outer door and apartment door so that we'd be comfortable with how to open everything. The apartment is completely central to Dinan, easily walkable to St-Saveur, the river (the return walk is a nice workout!) the library (€1.60 for an hour on their Internet computers) or the tourist office (free WiFi, but only when they're open.
The apartment was honestly luxurious for me and my son--so nice to close the bedroom door to let him sleep and sit and enjoy my morning coffee. There are three wall heaters, all of which worked beautifully. There is plenty of kitchenware, and I cooked comfortably on the two-burner stove and microwave. The bathroom is absolutely lovely, and she left plenty of supplies of all sorts, as well as lots of nice welcoming treats!
I definitely hope to stay here again.
Note that there is no free parking close by, but Solen knows a free parking lot that's not too far where there was always an open spot.
Solen and Thomas were great and excellent guests. They observed all house rules, left the apartment spotless and well organized, they are friendly and outgoing.
