Such an interesting person, her place oozes with personality and is perfectly located in the heart of the heights. Emily was very accomodating and made our stay easy breezy, such an excellent host.
Stayed at Emily's place last week - what a great host with a neat place to spend a week in Brooklyn. She made the check-in / check-out process very convenient for me and was extremely accommodating with my schedule. Her place is in a perfect location within walking distance of cool shops and restaurants/bars, as well as the subway and a laundromat. Emily responded quickly to the few questions I had and once I got settled in I felt very "at home". She has a great collection of books! No complaints and would book her place in a heartbeat if the opportunity came up again. Highly, highly recommended!
Emily's place in Brooklyn was excellent. I spent two weeks there and it felt like home. It's an authentic, cozy, quirky space which made for a wonderful experience. Lots of great books, artwork and records to enjoy!
I had to travel into Manhattan everyday and it couldn't have been easier. There are three different subway stops within walking distance (10mins or less). Montague Street has plenty of great shops and restaurants. The sandwiches at Lassen and Hennigs are fantastic and cheap. You can get practically everything you need within a three block radius.
The neighbourhood seemed relatively safe for a solo female traveller. The promenade is basically across the street and the view is terrific. Walked and ran over the Brooklyn Bridge several times as it was also minutes away. Beautiful views abound.
Emily was friendly, made lots of great suggestions, and was very easy to get in touch with. Getting in and out of the apartment was a breeze. Overall this was a positive experience. I would highly recommend this space.
I had a wonderful stay at Emily's studio in Brooklyn Heights. The place was cozy and comfortable and a perfect place to come home to at the end of the day. The location could not have been better. Emily was warm and friendly and gave me some great neighborhood restaurants to try. I would definitely book the studio again!
We were really happy with our stay in Brooklyn Heights, the apartment was full of character, full of Emily's personality, pictures, books and whatnot, lived in, but in a good way. Not at all a neutral rental space, so exactly what we were looking for, a little slice of local for a few days. Emily was very communicative, getting back to us quickly whenever we had a question, and was accommodating to a late departure which really helped us out. All in all we were really pleased with our experience, thanks Emily!
Emily was a fantastic host. Quick to respond and happy to help out with any issues.
The apartment itself was great. Really large and comfortable for a studio and in a fantastic location, close to Brooklyn Promenade and a short subway ride from Manhattan. This apartment is ideal for one or two people wanting an affordable base from which to explore New York.
Great host! Very easy to communicate with. I had a really great time.
I thoroughly enjoyed calling Emily's landmark studio my temporary home while on assignment in New York recently. I got a thrill, first off, just knowing it's a stone's throw from W. H. Auden and Thomas Wolfe's former homes. On top of this, you're just steps away from the Brooklyn Heights promenade, with a beautiful view of Manhattan day and night.
Emily's place is colorful and quirky, full of terrific books and artwork. It's small, but perfect for one person (as was my case).
The only disgruntled feelings I experienced were in relation to the clogged drains in the bathroom (which I remedied during my stay) and overall cleanliness - I was hoping for squeaky clean kitchen counters, a spotless fridge interior, and a well-swept floor, especially around the bedding. But it was a little gnarly in spots and made me wonder what the cleaning fee was for...
Despite the dust bunnies, I had a wonderful stay.
The reservation was canceled 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I had a wonderful time at Emilys home. She prepared everything for me to feel comfortable. The area is beautiful and close to the east river. The apartment is like an old american dream. I would come again ; )
Unfortunately I do not personally met Emily, but Adérito told me that she is lovely, truly adorable!
We really like to welcome her and hope to return to see her again!
Awesome studio! Made staying in Manhattan feel classy and cool, and thankfully affordable. Emily was a great host and even left me a bottle of wine for the weekend! Would visit again in a heartbeat.
