Hi, I m a scenographer and costume designer living and working Berlin.
. . .
Ditteke's flat is super: well situated, cosy and with a nice neighborhood (near Rosenthaler Platz, one of my favorite place in Berlin). Ditteke is someone very kind and helpful (she gave me piece of advice about places where i could work or eat and even came to change a bulb), and i've really loved living in her apartment!
Ditteke was a perfect host - friendly and helpful. Her apartment is great for visiting Berlin, close to trams and the U-Bahn, and a warm and clean home to return to after each day. It's in walking distance from shops, restaurants and cafes, and in a great position to explore the rest of the city. Highly recommended.
Perfect little apartment located in a perfect area!
I stayed here for two months with no problems at all! Highly recommended!!!!!
I found the flat to be cozy, clean and the location is great. Ditteke is a friendly, flexible and communicative host. Highly recommend this flat.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this apartment. The location is excellent, the flat is very well maintained and the host has been most helpful. Lovely experience!
My husband and I appreciate this cosy apartment, well situated. We could easily visit and come back to the apartment during the day, making lot of things by walking.
Nice stay, I recommend it.
I didn't actually stay here but I had booked it and paid well in advance. When I sent an email a couple of days before arrival (and thank goodness I did) enquiring about bed sheets, I was informed that the apartment had been double booked and that I would have to find somewhere else. I now have to find somewhere else within my budget and within the same area (the trip is for business purposes) in less than 48 hours.
The host was apologetic and very quick to reply, and offered to help search for another place.
My husband & I stayed at Ditteke’s place for a whole month and we had an awesome time. The apartment is small, but not as small as the photos make it look.
It’s in a super awesome location and we really enjoyed all the neighbourhood had to offer.
One issue was the noise of the building work on the apartment block right next door. Drilling started super early in the morning and went on all day. It was so loud it made the room shake and earplugs didn't help much. But I guess that won't go on all year. You can also hear the people in the apartment above during the night. It would wake me most nights but my husband slept right through, so I guess it depends on your noise threshold.
All in all, we had an awesome time at Ditteke’s place and would recommend it to anyone.
What started out really great, turned into something else. There were two things, that should have been clearly put forward well before my stay, which was for a bit over a month in July.
1) Construction site: There was no mention anywhere in the description, that there was a major construction site right behind the bedroom window. That meant, that I would have to wake up every Mon-Fri around 7-9 to the sounds of power tools, tractor etc. Earplugs don't help either, when there's somebody cutting steel pipes with a grinder only few meters away.
2) Flexible check out: When I arrived, I was told, that there would be a couple coming in the next day after my stay. I was also told that I would get some info how to handle things when I check out before it's time to check out. Shouldn't be a problem, right? Well, I didn't hear anything, so the day before I was leaving (my flight was 21:25) I sent an e-mail saying, that everything is pretty much in order and I would be leaving around 19:00 the next day. I didn't get an answer to that that day, but got a message in the middle of the night (post-midnight) saying I should be out before 12:00, because there would be a cleaning lady coming in. So there went the "flexible check out" and I had to spent the next day (which just happened to be my birthday) trying to find place to leave my baggage and just generally rallying around the city pretty annoyed.
Now, about a week later, I have to admit, that if I would have known these things earlier, I would have taken some other place to guarantee that I get the advertised good night sleep and flexible check out. After all, I really don't want to spend my vacation by waking up in a middle of a construction site every morning.
The reservation was canceled 12 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Ditteke and her partner Lars were very pleasant guests. We had crystal clear communication from the very beginning and a very good rapport while they stayed in the apartment.
During their stay they were very considerate and quiet and upon check out everything was spotless so they were very neat during their stay. They even took out their garbage which I found a very elegant touch.
I highly recommend them both as guests and as hosts since they're both great people!
