Jt. Smith has provided an excellent single bedroom apartment in a recently redone house in the Berkeley community. Roomy, bright, airy and well appointed, my wife Carrie and I enjoyed a wonderful 5 night stay. Jt. responded swiftly to any questions and we would definitely visit again. Street parking was always close, nice neighborhood, privacy, washer/dryer outside the door, large screen TV(you need to have Netflix etc. to watch, no cable) we fed the stream from our laptop. Fully equipped kitchen, pots, pans, some cooking supplies. Very, very nice.
I had a great experience staying at Jt's apartment for the last ten days. The place is newly renovated and everything, including the indoor space as well as the surrounding yard, is well kept. The kitchen is well equipped with appliances and utensils. The location is perfect for enjoying what the north Berkeley hills neighborhood has to offer: just around the corner from Berkeley hills Rose Garden & Cordonices Park and up the hill from the Gourmet Ghetto & Thursday Farmer's Market. The apartment has a lovely deck, partially shaded by a well-grown plum tree and a locquat tree. Sitting on the desk, I would see squirrels running around the branches to feed. Jt's other tenants in the building whom I got to meet all seem to be pleased with the place. Jt was exceptionally accommodating, and even when he was not in the property, he was prompt in responding to questions by text messages and/or email. I stayed with my two young children, who turned 3 and 7 during our stay there. It was a perfect place to celebrate their birthdays, and I'm looking forward to returning soon!
Small and impersonal, but well-kept and in a lovely area of Berkeley Hills. Good for a brief stay. The host was very polite and communicative.
We (husband, 5 month old son and myself) spent two weeks in the apartment while we were looking for a permanent place to live in the Bay Area, and had an absolutely great time. The apartment is super clean, spacious, light and very conveniently located in the hills but close to town, in a pretty and very well kept house with nice neighbors. We didn't meet with JT in person but he followed up on things very quickly and was constantly on stand-by in case we had questions. Five stars.
Great Apartment! Newly renovated, very clean, conveniently equipped with all the kitchen ware you need, bedding, extra towels - and even a writing desk with a view to the green yard. We really felt at home during our 1-month stay in this beautiful, modern and comfortable space. A peaceful & green neighborhood, breath-taking sunsets from the view-point down the street, over the entire bay-area and the golden gate bridge, really close to UC campus and the Gourmet Ghetto with all the best restaurants in Berkeley.
Great experience staying in the Berkeley Hills at JT's place. The apartment was very newly renovated and in great condition. It was so clean it looked like it had never even been used! Pictures were a very accurate depiction.
The space- It is not huge, but the layout is very open and there was plenty of space for my wife and I to live and work from here for over 2 weeks. Great afternoon sun and fabulous windows in the bedroom. The back deck was lovely and private with many large trees surrounding the back yard. Kitchen had all the essentials and we were able to cook many of our meals from our great finds at the farmers market. Closet space was ample with lots of racks and hanging room (and hangers). The laundry was conveniently right at our entry way and JT provided detergent and every kind of cleaning supplies we could have needed. The linens were plush and clean and new with an extra set of everything (huge fluffy white bath towels were awesome). There was nothing else we could have wanted.
The neighborhood- Such a quaint and quiet little residential neighborhood with many parks to walk/bike/drive to nearby. It was only a 1 mi walk/drive to some of the best restaurants in Berkeley (the Gourmet Ghetto). The location was the perfect balance between nature (huge trees and great views at about 1/4 of the way up the hill) and city (close to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, grocery, UC's campus, yoga studios, etc).
The Host- JT was very professional and accommodated our every need and very prompt. We never met JT (as he does not live on the property), but communicated via text and always had any information we needed quickly.
My wife and I would stay here again in a heartbeat and are even considering moving to the Berkeley Hills because we enjoyed our stay so much.
Great neighborhood, very convenient to family and gourmet ghetto. Newly refurbished, extremely comfortable and well-stocked kitchen....cookware, dinnerware, dishwasher, refrig, coffeemaker....very clean, modern and minimal with separate sleeping area. Am house hunting in area and will return, would definitely want to stay here again.
The appartement was in really good condition! The place is in a nice residential neighbourhood of Berkeley and you can get some spectacular views of the Bay area. Shattuck Av. is close by, where you can do the groceries. I highly recommend staying here.
Nothing much else to say, since all the previous reviews reflect how amazing this apartment is. Clean, comfortable, well equiped and illuminated. Russian Hill is far more calm, secure, clean and pleasant than Union Square. And easy to access from any part of the city. We've been everywhere using public transportation (and the SF City Pass, giving days of free public transportation, helps a lot, since the cable car - that stops almost at the door - costs USD6 a ride). The only hard part is trying to park around. But it was faced only in the checkout day, since you do not need a car at SF at all. Would stay there again (and again, and again...)!
We had a really nice stay here. It is a perfect location for a typical San Francisco vacation, with the cablecars right on the corner and the steep hills. It is a nice resendential neighbourhood. On Polk St down the road you can find a lot of restaurants, bars etc. The kitchen in the apartment is very well-equipped so cooking at home is also an option. JT was very helpful and quick to help us with our queries. We would love to stay in this apartment again. /Per + Linda
JT was a great guest. He communicated very well and left our place very clean.I would recommend renting to him!
Jt y sus amigos han sido unos huéspedes muy respetuosos y tranquilos. Espero que vuelvan a alojarse con nosotros.
It was easy working with JT who visited Chicago for a few days in May. Communication was simple, check-in was easy. My apartment was clean when he left. I would recommend JT to any other airbnb hosts and would welcome him back to my home anytime.
Jt is a friendly guy, curious about the city and the neighbourhood and uncomplicated to deal with. He took really good care of the apartment and left it spotless at check out. I can highly recommend Jt as a guest.
