I was very disappointed with this house. When i arrived the owner wanted to "talk" because there is a major ant problem with the house. She said that at night there would be millions of ants coating the pillars, and the night before it was so bad that she couldn't even sleep inside with her son... Also she mentioned that it is for sale but she didn't know exactly when the date of sale would be and if the new owners would want the same tenants. I was so surprised. She said I could try it out for a week and see how I felt..
But then when I went upstairs to shower and settle in after my 5 hour bus ride from San Jose, I found that the place was very dirty.
The shower had mold and dirt in the corners. The bed sheets were dirty, pillow case with hairs, and when I lifted the sheets off I saw that there were bed bugs! I was so disgusted and also so tired from my trip I realized that had to find a hotel to stay in at almost 10pm at night. I phoned a few places and moved to a hotel that night. The good thing is I showed the owner the bed bugs so she could see for herself and all she responded was the bugs was all the more reason she wanted to be rid of the house..
I asked for a refund and she gave it back in cash the next day.
I was lucky to find a wonderful place to stay in Samara after this ordeal.
If something like this happens to you, don't let it ruin your trip, there are plenty of nice places in Samara and plenty of nice people, Good Luck!
I was so excited about staying at your house and meeting you, and I was really so disappointed in the end.
The house was dirty, it was by no means clean, not even for hostel standards. The bathroom was dirty and there was a musty stench as if it hadn't been clean. The sheets were not clean also. I know you have other things going on in your life, but if you want to rent out your place you have to pay more attention to these things. You are responsible for your tenants and their health also! Once you have ant problem so bad that you can't sleep in your place(like you
told me) you have to stop renting for a week and do a huge fumigation!
You can't blame anyone for the situation. Of course I wouldn't stay if there are Bed bugs!
I even showed you with a flashlight the bugs in the bed! I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone else on Airbnb, that is the truth. I stated the facts.
You seem like a nice lady with a nice heart but just right now in your life you are not really in a place to be a host. Take care of yourself and your son. I really wish the best for you.
Willow and Morgan were such sweet hosts! They really made us feel welcome and helped us out with whatever we needed. The apartment they let us use was clean and the kitchen came in really handy. We ate in almost every meal! Morgan was kind enough to let us use his laptop after we had been robbed at nearby Playa Carillo so that we could contact home and cancel our credit cards. We were only going to stay for 2 nights, but ended up staying for 4!
Willow and Morgan are both very gentle and kind people, who will literally give you the shirt off their backs if you need it. Their building is situated in one of the most beautiful tropical locations, and although rustic, you can get anything you need to make yourself comfortable and at home here. If you love easy, hot and sunny days, the thought of palm-lined, practically-empty beaches, warm ocean water, exotic forest creatures, fresh fruit right off the trees, great food and lots of friendly locals, Willow and Morgan's place in Samara is for you.
A lovely hostess who will weave a spell of spirited and splendid relaxation for your visit!
Willow is one of the sweetest people I know: She is kind and compassionate and would make an amazing hostess. I have not yet been to her new place in Costa Rica, but I intend on visiting soon. I mean, what's not to love about paradise?
