I had an amazing experience.
Laura s apartment was amazing.
The host was great, location was perfect, the apartment was so nice and comfortable. Felt at home there as I stayed for two weeks for work. Thank you Laura!
Laura was very friendly and sweet throughout the whole booking process. I was really enchanted by the apartment - I have rented apartments twice before in Paris, and this was by far my favorite. The interior is saturated with good taste! A reflection of Laura's personal style?? I loved everything about it - the wood paneling on the walls, the mix of contemporary and mid-century modern furnishings, the small prints and photography that were well-placed throughout. And how can I forget - the tiger head! Loved it. The apartment has such a cool, chic, youthful vibe - exactly what a modern Paris apartment should be. As an interior designer myself - I was quite inspired. And the location? - One of the very best! It's situated just two blocks away from the elegant Place des Vosges, within easy walking distance of all the chic boutiques of the Marais, and two wonderful little marchés and a boulangerie on the same block. The metro stop (Chemin Vert) is just two blocks away. Actually, for most of the trip I think my favorite thing to do was to turn on some chillout music and relax with some tea in the apartment.
Great stay at Laura's. The apartment located in the best area of Paris is super calm. The deco is very tasteful and offering a typical Paris experience
Laura has been very helpful and I will definitely stay again when in Paris
a rather mixed bag to be honest.
Apartment looks good and is very kitsch, but not always practical. Its located in the Haut Marais which not too long ago was not the most salubrious area (despite proximity to Place des Vosges), but is now the sort of scruffy, funky, edgy, locale that appeals to urbane hipster types. think parts of Brooklyn and Hoxton.
Opposite is a whole foods style mini mart, and transport is good. The decor is stylish, but scratch below the surface and its all a bit student like: there is no bed per se, just a bed head and an iffy mattress on the floor. The bedroom curtain is a see-through mesh black material, that does not keep the light out. I did not sleep especially well.
The kitchen is well enough equipped but I did not really use it. The bathroom is small, hard to manouevre in, water pressure good.
lounge area again looks good, but sit on the groovy 70's style arm chair, and it comes apart. there for show, not for use. upcycled park bench is too narrow to sit on comfortably, the dining table has a pair of oh-so cool cinema chairs. they look good but...
The wifi works well and the TV is easy to operate. zero english channels, not even CNN.
If i were a 20 something, fashionable hipster looking for location, and eclectic style more than substance or comfort, as many are, this would be good.
On the actual booking itself, I fear Laura's immaturity did not help here. No one was here to greet my arrival, as she was away in US, it was a left key & note stuff. different timezones too.
I made a week booking (sat to sat) with full payment over a month in advance, and Laura advertises flexible check in and check out. it seems she means flexible to her.
On the thursday night (prior to my sat departure) I received a message from Laura telling me I had to vacate by 9:00am on saturday as housekeeper would come to clean for new tenants. never was this discussed, at any time, and this did not fit with my plans or flights. I responded that this did not seem fair or reasonable, perhaps 11:00am would be fair compromise. The apartment needed very little cleaning so turnaround should be quick.
I did not hear back, and assumed all was ok.
Sat Morning 9:00am I am in shower, door unlocks and housekeeper is in apartment!!!. the poor lady had not been told, and did not speak english, I stood in a towell, dripping wet, demanding she leave and come back later.
This was hardly fair on the housekeeper, but perhaps Laura did not care?
I was furious about both of us being put on the spot. this soured whole experience.
A few days after the booking, I again messaged Laura to ask for her comments before I wrote a review. again no response
would not book again.
Laura was a great host, answering all of our questions in the shortest possible time.
The apartment is very beautiful, bright and at a wonderful location. We had a wonderful time during our stay. 5 Stars!
very nice and spacey apartment with a wonderful atmosphere and - location! location is really awesome: very close (250 m to the metro, 2 minutes walk to Place de Vosques, in the center of Le Marais with a nice bars and restaurants around.
i stayed for paris fashion week - and it was so close to all the brands showrooms - one can hardly imagine anything better.
would surely stay here again

Laura’s apartment is wonderful and as a host Laura herself couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating.
The Marais is beautiful, the flat is a great balance of whimsy & warmth, and the location two blocks up from Place des Voges is ideal: quiet street, pretty, easy access to several Metro stops, and the area abounds with great restaurants and shops.
My daughter and I spent several days at Laura’s and I recommend it without reservation. (Well done, Laura!)
