Great space and location with lots of character. The apartment is spacious and comfortable with plenty of artistic charm. It takes advantage of the Bastille neighborhood (proximity to sites and nightlife), but once inside the courtyard the building is very quiet. Gaspard was a good host, especially in his flexibility for our late arrival and departure times. An excellent choice for Paris.
Un appartement calme et agréable et une baignoire plus qu'appréciable! Merci beaucoup!
Gaspard made our stay very easy, providing us in advance with all the information we needed for our arrival, departure, and stay, and arranging for a friend of his to welcome us.
We thoroughly enjoyed the flat and the neighbourhood. The apartment is bright, spacious, and quiet, and living amongst his great grandmother's canvases is a truly unique artistic experience. It's wonderful visiting Paris's Matisses and Seurats during the day, and then coming back to one's own beautiful collection in the evening.
The flat had everything we needed, and we would recommend it without hesitation.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Gaspard's charming apartment. He was a gracious host, taking the time to show us around his home, thoroughly covering any information we needed and offering maps and guides for us to use.
The neighborhood is perfect – busy but not too busy. While the apartment is on a major road with all the necessary amenities, it is situated inside a quiet courtyard with huge windows that open up.
The apartment had a big bathtub, a washer/dryer unit, a kitchen with everything we needed, a very comfortable bed, a stereo with an iPod dock and CDs we were generously allowed to enjoy, and great art everywhere throughout the home. The perfect Parisian pad.
The Bastille area was an ideal base for exploring the city. Multiple buses and Metro lines right there, and Velib bike share stalls all over the place.
If we ever move to Paris this is definitely an area we'd want to live in.
We loved our stay here so much. Gaspard and his wife are amazing hosts and have a genuine commitment to generously sharing their beautiful apartment (with an amazing story behind it) with people from around the world. The apartment is filled with beautiful are and thousands of books. The area is great - fantastic fruit markets up the road and great restaurants around the corner. We had such a positive experience and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. We were so sad to leave and we'll definitely be back.
Gaspard and Evi were lovely, considerate hosts. Their apartment is airy and sunlit; the paintings full of life and joy. They're near the most fabulous farmer's market and they have a bathtub. I would gladly return.
Loved the apartment, Gaspard and Evi were really friendly and helpful. Our stay was short, thanks to a disastrous day on Eurostar, but we still enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
I had a wonderful time in Gaspard's flat. It's fairly spacious for a flat in Paris and the location is fantastic. There are lots of restaurants bars and cafes in the area along with some shopping opportunities and a supermarket just a block away. The metro station is a two minute walk from your front door and is well connected to the rest of Paris as a few different lines pass through it. The flat is clean and has a lot of character. The photos are very accurate. Even better than the flat was the hosting of Gaspard and his wife Evy. They were very flexible with check in and check out times. My arrival flight was delayed and they accommodated me without issue. I ended up getting food poisoning during my stay and they were kind enough to let me sleep in the flat long past checkout until I left for the airport that evening. I highly recommend renting from them during your stay.
I loved this place. The location is excellent - very close to where I use to live - close to the metro and many bars, restaurants, supermarket.
The flat is really charming, full of history. I loved the paintings... :)
Congratulations for making her story alive and to live in such a charming place.
What a little gem in the middle of Paris. It is about 5 minutes walk from the Bastille square and underground station. Entry is through a large courtyard where a magnolia tree was blooming on our arrival. This is literally an artist studio with canvasses stored to one side of the bedroom. The apartment has two very lage rooms with large picture windows letting in light with a view over the courtyard. The apartment is spacious, clean and well appointed. The bathroom is very modern and includes a washing machine. The hosts Gaspard and Eva are a delightful, young couple who were very attentive to all our inquiries and were available by phone to answer any of our queries during our stay. The bed is very comfortable. Being an old building there is no lift however their are only a few flights of stairs to the apartment and Gaspard assisted us with our suitcases. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to have a unique adventure in the city of love.
It was a pleasure to host Gaspard and his friends. They were friendly, easygoing, and communication was easy and prompt. They also left the flat in excellent condition, so I'd have no hesitation to recommend them to any host.
The cow on the couch, and the juice, that has the vitamin c , unlike the Jew, I will always remember the English lessons of Evi, Gaspard picked up the best books on the shelves, with acrimonious scholarly punctuality I resented it a little bit, but then I thought I will never read them again, less them circulate, so what can I say, they are an eccentric couple, I loved them, I hope to see them again. ,
Accueillir Gaspard aura été un véritable plaisir !
Everything went fine and we are happy we had Gaspard as a guest!
A very nice couple. Keen to explore the Loire Valley chateaus whilst staying with us. Lively and fun. Amazing how many airbnbers are always interesting, NEVER boring and have tales to tell. I guess by steering clear of hotels we all have an 'exploring' nature. Anyway, we would have Gaspard and his girlfriend back anytime.
