All I have to say is, if you have to stay in the Gangnam/Sinsa area, this is the place you want to be. I have yet to stay here and not be met with a welcoming smile. And, I must share that the day I arrived it was pouring rain. I received a message from Mrs. Kim offering to come and get me with an umbrella!!! Now who does that!!! Only people who really care about their guest. Definitely a 'Home away from home'.
The host was good.
The room although small is convenient, clean and well equipped. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Good value for money in the hip gangnam district.
My host was very kind and helpful. He helped me to carry my bags up to my room when he saw me struggling with the heavy suitcase!
Room was nice and neat, exactly as it is in the photographs. I really appreciated the fact that there is a small window for ventilation and fresh air and a washing machine in the room.
The neighbourhood was perfect! The main door is 10meters from the road but you don't hear the traffic cause there is another building in front to filter out the sound. There are numerous convenience stores around, including a 7-11 behind that stocks fresh produce like eggs, fruit and tofu! It is a 5 min walk to Shinsa station, where you can get to Apgujeong (next stop for upmarket shopping) and Express Bus Terminal (2 stops away for cheap shopping)! Garosigil is also just a short walk away for a great afternoon hanging out in the cafes.
The room was cosy and conveniently located near Sinsa Subway station.
Location is good, very convenient.
Room is clean and comfortable.
It was a great experience staying here! ^^
It has been a great stay with Mrs Kim's Ephphatha Residence. She & her son, Lee, have been very helpful and resourceful. The unit is small but not suffocating. It is easily accessible by public transport and near amenities. Definitely good for solo traveler like myself who needed some privacy at affordable rate in this prime area, Sinsa.
Nice room. Clean, comfortable and private. This appears to be short term student housing, so is not really a 'shared' experience, but still very nice. I used the clothes washer. A real plus!
This was my 2nd time staying at Kim's place and it is definitely like a home away from home. First, the location is very easy to find, just a few meters away from the closest train station. You have a plethora of stores (restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops) on the main street. And most importantly, Mrs. Kim welcomes you with a smile and matter a fact, everyone is happy to serve as well. Everyone speaks English and they are willing to help you with whatever you need. I like the fact that there is a communal kitchen that has everything you need and 'Yes' it's clean as well. Definitely my choice for accommodations whenever I am in this particular part of Seoul.
This is a nice and clean but tiny room for one person with a (Korean style) shower/bathroom combo located directly in the room. It's very convenient for a single traveler on a budget with no other guests. It was great for my mom to use for a short stay since I lived within walking distance. It's tucked away in an alley right off a main street in Sinsa, very close to the Garosugil shopping district and easy centralized access to most of Seoul.
Ms. Kim was a great hostess, with friendly and clear communication in English. She responded to my numerous emails quickly and courteously, and accommodated all my requests. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick solo trip.
