Because it is listed in Airbnb I thought it was a B & B but in fact it is a trannsit hotel for people who dont want to go to KL. Its 20 minutes from LCCT and there's nothing around the place. One eatery has just opened up. Very basic eating: rice or noodle dishes. That's all. But they do have a good breakfast.. The hotel has friendly staff but its quite noisy. I could hear people showering, talking etc. Breakfast is very basic. Tea/coffee and toast/jam. That's it. Tip: Go to the eatery around the corner and have a proper breakfast! They have a pickup service from the airport and charge for it so you really have to add that on to the cost of the hotel.
This is a cool hotel, and if you are just crashing for a night before your morning flight like we were, it's totally adequate. Free wifi and laundry, and cool design.... That being said I wouldn't stay here for any other reason as it is in the middle of no where on a highway with no where to even grab a beer after coming from a long day of travel. But I'm pretty sure people only stay here to lay over, so like I said if that is your agenda than it's perfect, and they have a very very cheap shuttle service.
The transport service is nice. We got a round trip for MYR 10 per person.
The room is quite big and comfortable, but we were assigned to a room where the air condition engine is located. So we couldn't stand the noise and asked for another one. the other one was no much better, because it's filled with the smell of cigarette, and not to mentioned the faucet handle was broken. It was too late in the midnight to argue. So we put our selves into bed and ignored all this things. Btw, their breakfast was only served with coffee, tea and toast.
Over all, we still got a good sleep in this B&B. That depends what you ask for a overnight stay hotel.
Great value, clean and fastest check out ever!
I read the other 2 reviews before going here and they were spot on.
It's excellent value for money at 40 USD + 10 Malaysian return trip for the road transport. They have a young, dynamic feel about the set up, staff and management which is great.
I was met at the airport on time, late at night, about 2330, and it was about 15 minute drive on deserted freeways. The next morning there was a traffic jam or two but it took about 20-25 mins.
The hotel is a renovated building in an undeveloped shopping/office block. there's a very basic minimart next to the hotel.
I was ungraded to a larger room which was about standard size. Very clean. Minimalist furnishing, which is the hotel theme. Very nice bathroom. Air con worked well, slept well.
Only improvement would be to have a bar or Club in the hotel where we could have a drink before bed, maybe licencing laws make this not possible. Also it would be great to have some kind decent food available as it was late at night and I was hungry. I suggest anyone else to get some food at the airport, I should have grabbed a sandwich at the Dunkin Dohnuts where you get picked up at the airport, I remember looking at tuna sandwiches which were a very reasonable 6 Malaysian = @ 2 USD.
Stayed not more than 12 hours then went off to catch my flight at KLIA, but I wish I'd stayed longer! This hotel is so chic and it even comes with friendly hotel attendants and drivers.
The youniQ is a fabulous looking hotel and we were very impressed with the design and lighting of the lobby and rooms. Rooms were small ensuite with cool decor and good bed - very clean. The most amazing part was the shuttle to and from the airport for 5RM eachway. They run their own shuttle, so arrange it to run for when you need it. We had trouble checking in as ours were the first booking through airbnb and the reception staff were completely confused by it. We rang airbnb's customer help staff and they called reception directly to sort it out -very interesting. However, the next morning the manager, Kevin, presented us with a small gift and explained how they'd made the mistake and apologised.
Overall, this stay was fantastic value in a beautifully designed, modern hotel with supercheap 20min transfers to the LCCT. What more could you ask for?
