Our stay at Christina's Hillside Hideaway was very satisfying, just as expected. The kitchen is fine for cooking simple meals. The bed is comfortable and the atmosphere in the whole place is relaxing. The book about the secret staircases of Los Angeles was a fun little extra that we used quite a bit.
Our biggest problem was the climb to the cottage. There were 100 steep stairs to get up to it. We left our luggage in the car and carried a few things up. It was mentioned in the write up about the stairs, but should have been made more obvious.
If you like feeling tucked away in a leafy bower and don't mind stairs, I can't recommend this casita highly enough. It was light and airy, very private and comfortable with lush views. It's a romantic spot in a beautiful Los Angeles neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again on a return trip.
Sweet Little Spot.
Lots of stairs, which I liked but not for everyone!
I will definitely stay there again
Enjoyed my stay here. Bright, clean and comfortable. Convenient to my work too.
Christina's place is great. It's up a good number of stairs but has great views of the city and is perfect for a weekend away for two. It was very clean and Christina's communication was great to provide anything we needed during our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to make small meals. Would definitely stay again!
The location is very nice, the bungalow had a nice view and felt like a little oasis in LA. Getting access to the place was easy. If I ever moved to LA this little house would be perfect! Its close to a lot but still feels very quiet and has a lot of charm.
This is a super-charming spot with great light and plenty of privacy. Beautifully furnished with mid-century design, very clean, and romantically tucked away on a Silver Lake hillside. Christina was easy to contact when we had questions. We were looking for a spot to simulate living in Silver Lake for the weekend, and this place was perfect for that. Getting to Sunset Junction may require a car or bike if you're not a big walker, but we had a fantastic day walking from the reservoir, through the SL farmer's market, to Los Feliz, and up to Griffith Park, then all the way back to Echo Park before "heading home." About 13 miles, but we highly recommend it on a beautiful day!
Would definitely stay here again.
A very charming place. Christina's apartment is located in the hills of Silverlake and you take this truly unique 200-250 stair stair-case to get there. Imagine bringing your groceries home! The apartment is well kept, has great natural light, and all-in-all is splendid. I had problems, however, with the internet. I was told to find the internet network and password on the router box, but upon review it was not at all clear what the network name was. I tried in vain for a day (off and on). Christina was nice enough to come out and check on the internet, although I felt like this entire situation could have been avoided with better directions. One other strange thing about the place was that there are no blinds in the living room. It felt pretty exposed at times, even though there isn't much passer-by traffic. Still, despite these problems I'd definitely recommend the place.
