As always, Roseann's home was a peaceful, welcome retreat. My husband and I were in Eugene for our son's college graduation, and we're very grateful for the relaxing, serene ambiance of the Friendly Alley cottage.
Roseann was a gracious and flexible host.
Rosann was a perfect hostess! Gave us great tips on where to go in Eugene. The house is adorable, had a cute cottage feel to it. Would definitely go back again!
We had a wonderful stay at Roseann's lovely place. The pictures don't do it the justice it deserves. The space was warm and inviting with many interesting, artistic touches. The backyard and patio were exceptional. The neighborhood is quiet with only the occasional chicken cluck/dog bark ;-) Highly recommend!
Thanks Alyson - hope the chickens didn't wake you!
Love, love, love this little house! A perfect retreat for our weekend visit. Warm, tasteful... we would love to come again. Thank you for everything!
Thanks for letting me know Scotia - my friend just told me this too....but I haven't found it slow. So now that I have too complaints, I will most definitely check it out right away!! Glad you had a good time!
Roseann and her place were great. We had booked our reservation months in advance and Roseann was great at keeping in touch and providing information about her place. The place was lovely and clean with a beautiful patio and backyard. The cottage is located in a quiet family neighborhood with great amenities (a small neighborhood grocery store, a large Market of Choice, yummy casual restaurants, a small neighborhood park a few blocks away, and a great big park just a mile away.) I would highly recommend Roseann and her place!
Roseann's cottage was delightful. It's in a somewhat surprising location-- literally down an "alley"-- but as we discovered, "alleys" in Eugene are not your big-city alley! It was a lush green "alley" tucked away off of the main street, making for a very country/woodsy/hidden getaway feeliing-- almost like a beautifully designed treehouse for grownups! The photos do not do it justice-- it was bigger than we expected. Its warm wood floors and cozy furnishings created a true home away from home feeling. It's so quiet in the evening-- we slept soundly and loved the skylights in the morning. It was impeccably clean and well cared for and Roseann leaves a detailed letter of instructions and information. We were only 5 minutes from campus and it's a great neighborhood for a morning run. It made our first Airbnb experience a very positive one!
We stayed 2 nights for an Oregon Duck game, our first AirBNB experience. Thanks to Roseann's comfortable accompdation we are now confirmed Airbnb'ers. Will count on Friendly Cottage as our "Eugene place."
Staying at Roseann's place was lovely -- an airy and comfortable cottage with lots of room for my partner and I who were both writing and reading all week -- there is an upstairs bedroom loft and a nice sized living room kitchen with tall ceiling and skylights, so even in the rain we felt like we were not sad to be inside. We could hear the rain on the roof and I felt like I was at a real retreat! When its not raining, there is a beautiful patio and there was a hot tub, though we unfortunately could not use it. In the Friendly street neighborhood, within walking distance to a cute tea shop, natural grocery store, juice truck, surrounded by trees (though we used car to go to further away place in Eugene). Clean and well appointed space, fully stocked kitchen. Very nice touches like travel sized toiletries and luxury towels. Roseann was great host, we didn't meet her but she was easy to communicate with and arriving to/leaving the cottage was very easy. We'll absolutely recommend her place to family or friends staying in Eugene.
Thanks Suzanne - you are welcome any time!
I was in Eugene to move furniture into my son's apartment. I was fortunate enough to find Rosann's listing and it looked like just the right antidote to busy days with college students. I couldn't have been more right!
Rosann was prompt in all communications, which made the transaction go very smoothly. Upon arrival, there was a nice note with directions to various local markets and their specialties, as well as some local activities.
Rosann's home is lovely, with a peaceful, Zen-like quality; a comfortable bed, a small deck off the bedroom for taking in the garden or doing yoga, and all that one or two people need in a kitchen and living space. The garden includes a fire pit, table and chairs, a large patio, and a very welcome hot soaking tub. Additionally, there was a dock for my iPod and a bicycle and helmet, should I have had time to use it.
My son and I were able to watch the Ducks game at Rosann's and he was a bit regretful that he had to leave to go back to his place. He, too, thought it was a wonderful place to stay (he particularly liked the beautiful wood in the spiral staircase to the bedroom and the openness of the living space).
I highly recommend this space for anyone looking for a pleasant, quiet place to relax and rejuvenate. I know I will be back again!
Thank you Shelley - you're so kind and were a wonderful guest! You are welcome to come back anytime! Roseann
Roseann's home was incredible and bigger than the pictures do justice. Truly a magical place to stay and we wished we could have been there longer. There is a beautiful courtyard with the hot tub and the whole house is so bright. I felt like I was in a tree house sleeping upstairs with the doors open. The bed is a extremely firm which my husband loves. There was a ton of stuff in the kitchen making breakfast easy and complimentary coffee out for us. We walked to the best market only a few blocks away. Roseann was an amazing host as she was communicative and flexible as we cut our trip a tad short. Any one would be super lucky to stay at Roseann's when in Eugene!
I totally enjoyed hosting Roseann. She's really an interesting person and I hope she'll stay here again on her future trips to Seattle.
Thanks so much Stephanie - would love to stay at your place when I have more leisure time! It's really lovely!
Roseann was a very nice guest. It was a last minute request and we had some calendar conflicts but through diligence got it figured out and she was able to have a nice stop over in portland. Plus, she left me a couple sweet gifts. Thanks, roseann!
Roseann stayed for two nights. She was so quiet the only way I knew she was here was by the glowing light in the windows. One night a delicious cooking aroma from the Serene Studio filled the house. She was respectful of the space and cleaned up after herself very nicely.
I hope she comes again and stays longer next time!
Thanks Elizabeth, I'm sure I'll be back. Great space and very affordable!
I would welcome Roseann and her friends back any time.
Thanks Josh.....loved your location!

I did not get a chance to meet Roseann as she did arrive a bit later, but her friend Barbara and her husband were great. Very loving people, responsible and reliable, and very respectful to our place. We would host them again gladly!
I'm glad that Roseann stayed at the Loft. She's a nice person and gives a good review. If your a host looking for a guest I would recommend Roseann.
