Jaime was a great host, she was very responsive when there was an issue that came up or when we had questions. She also gave us suggestions for good, inexpensive restaurants in the area. The apartment is in a great location in the city, great access to the subway system (especially if you're there in the winter and are trying to avoid the cold weather whenever possible). There are also plenty of dining options within a few blocks, both sit down restaurants and take out style. If you're looking to go out in the city, this is the perfect neighborhood to be in, a lot of the cool bars and clubs in Chelsea and Meatpacking District are right around the corner. Also other great things right nearby are Chelsea Market and the High Line, and a pretty easy walk (or subway ride) to Penn Station/Madison Square Garden and Union Square. The apartment itself was very small, so if you're staying with more than a single person it definitely gets cramped but you can make due if you're not planning on spending much time in the apartment except to sleep. There is plenty of closet space, both hanging and shelving, which was unexpected for NYC standards. The kitchen consists of a sink, mini fridge, and small 2-burner stove so don't expect to cook much. The bathroom was small but adequate. I slept in the loft bed, which got uncomfortably warm because it was right next to the hot water pipe in the bathroom. Even though I was there in January-March, I had to leave the window open all day and night so that the sleeping area was comfortable, leaving the rest of the apartment pretty cold. There was a fan up there but it didn't help too much. There is a window A/C unit to use to keep the place cool in the summer-- since the unit is high in the window that might help with the cooling of the loft in the summer. The building itself was very old and pretty run down, but this apartment seems to have been well kept and there weren't any serious issues. The washer and dryer are in the basement, coin-operated, and are not great but it's better than having to go to a laundromat. Overall, this was not the cheapest price for what the apartment actually offered, but I guess you pay more for the location here.
Jaime was incredibly helpful throughout the process. She made sure we could pick up the keys when needed and when we had questions about things in the apartment was responsive and supportive. We loved staying in the apartment and would recommend it for people looking for a great location and cute place to stay in the city.
I stayed at Jaime's apartment for 3 months, and thoroughly enjoyed making it my home in that time. The location is unbeatable - safe, fun, there's a subway on the corner and lots of great stores and places to eat/drink. The apartment is small, but has everything you would need and the space has been used in a very clever and effective way. As I am now living in NYC I bought a lot with me, and there was plenty of storage for all my gear and all my shopping over the months! The bed is comfy and easy to fold up and down from the wall everyday if you choose not to sleep in the loft.
The building is nice but old, the elevator broke a couple of times whilst I was there but was fixed quickly.
All in all a great stay and an apartment I would highly recommend for a single or couple.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Jaime's apartment. It was clean and beautifully decorated, and the location is amazing! There were quite a few fun things to see and do within walking distance, and it was so convenient having the subway station right on the corner of the street. Jaime was kind, helpful, and very easy to work with!
Fantastic apartment! Much bigger than it looks in the photos! Could not have asked for a better place for the month long stay! I read my flight information wrong and had to stay an extra night Jaime sorted it all out with no problems whatsoever.
The apartament is great! It is small but very comfortable. Wardrobes are very spacious and airconditioning works great, which is vital in summertime. Just half block from the bulding entrance there is A C E and L subway. Around the corner there is Chelsea Market, a great place to eat at midday.
Jaime is really nice. She wasn't able to be at the apartament the day we arrived but she wrote us a lot of mails to know if we were ok, if we need anything of if there were something we were having problems with. Actually one night the toilette seemed to be plugged, we wrote her an email and the next day somebody came to see which was the problem.
We recommend it very much!
We had a little problem of communication, this is because we are from abroad, and couldn't use our cell. But Air bnb staff helped us really well.
Jaime was really nice she responded and sorted little thing we needed out very quickly. She emailed us to make sure we were OK. The apartment is in brilliant location, we enjoyed staying NYC. Thank you Jaime!
Jaime and her guests were very nice and pleasant upon meeting. Unfortunately, a few things happened upon their departure and I feel obliged to share this with potential hosts. Two items were broken (one was completely missing) and although they were not of high value, no mention was made that they had been broken and I discovered broken pieces of a wine glass on my kitchen floor and counter top. I had asked Jaime twice to have everyone read and sign the Guidelines and this was never (website hidden) and wine bottles were left with some alcohol still in them in the indoor recycling box. They left with one of the house keys, left a door unlocked, tv and ceiling fan were left on. When I brought this to her attention in an email, she never apologized and minimized the breakage and missing item. She wrote that I misrepresented that I had central air which had she asked at any time, I could have directed her to the thermostat.
I may get a bad review from her as a result of my review. Had she or anyone in her party mentioned that something had broken (guidelines), I would have felt very differently about the whole matter. An apology would have been respectful. This is my first time to have a negative review about any of my guests the past 3 years and hopefully the last.
