I am from Washington DC and enjoy visiting friends throughout the states. I enjoy the charm of staying in homes vs. hotels/motels. I love to see how people have expressed themselves in the furnishings, through collections, art etc.
I teach Pre-Kindergarten children with autism in the District of Columbia Public Schools.
My husband and I are also Resident Managers for the Washington DC Baha'i Center.
Two mile from us, our daughter, her husband and our 3 granddaughters reside. All in all, my husband and I feel we are unspeakably fortunate!
My favorite hobby is floral arranging, and my second favorite hobby is shopping or foraging for flowers.
Living in DC is very awe-inspiring . My favorite museums are the Lincoln Cottage and Frederick Douglas' home. It is amazing to think that we are walking on the ground of such historic figures.
Currently, I'm reading a biography of Eleanore Roosevelt's life.
Something quirky/amusing about my husband and I is that our last 3 cars have all been 1998 Toyota Camries. We may never purchase any other car, and we've thought about starting a fan club.
Speaking of fan clubs, we very much love Eva Cassidy - a very talented singer who left this world at a young age.
One of my favorite vacation rentals was a farm house we rented this summer in rural Illinois - very close to my mother's ancestral home ( which is sadly no longer owned by family members.)
Next summer Tod and I will travel to Haifa, Isreal and to London for a day or two. We are scheduled to leave the day after my last day of school , so I'm really hoping there won't be any days to make up from the snow storms that are predicted for us this winter!
