Born in California, grew up in Ecuador, music teacher/student, I like to read, meditate, cook, and eat. 24 years old, clean, friendly, respectful, I really enjoy experiencing new cultures and traditions.
I spent the last few years working as a music teacher in the Galapagos Islands at a very small school there and really loved it. I plan to continue teaching students of all levels and work in volunteer community programs through music.
When I travel I sport the backpacker gear, but I don't like doing the tourist thing too much, I really prefer to stay somewhere for long enough to get to know the area and really learn the customs of the place. My last big trip was to Malaysia on the island of Sabah, which is an amazing place. The people are very friendly and the food is great.
I don't watch much TV or movies anymore, but I still love The Daily Show, Monty Python and Spaced. Some favorite movies are: Memento and The Big Lebowski.
There are too many good foods to choose just one as a favorite, but a few at the top of the list are: sushi, Thai, chicken curry w/ nan bread, good quality Italian. Favorite dessert is between mango sticky rice and blueberry pie.
I don't read much fiction, but I read a lot of philosophy texts. Lately I've been really enjoying Buddhist Sutras.
For music, I'll listen to almost anything as long as it's of high quality performance. Right now enjoying Bulgarian music, The Beatles, Alison Krauss, Funk Como Le Gusta, Richard Bona, McCoy Tyner, Salif Keita, Zeca Pagodinho and Fela Kuti.
