I grew up in Brooklyn NY and have lived in NJ for over 31 years. I live and work in Montclair, NJ, a smallish, very urbanized, suburb outside of Newark NJ in one of the densest metros, 12 miles west of midtown Manhattan. I've in this town for 31 years in three different places all within 4 blocks of the town library and central business district. I'm married and we have a 36 year old son who lives and works in NYC.
For the past 20 years, I've worked at the National Housing Institute ((website hidden)), a small research and communications organization that studies and writes about community revitalization of distressed, mostly urban communities.
I travel a fair amount, almost all for work.
