This bungalow was a wonderful oasis, a great spot from which to relax and enjoy Goa, and Otto, our golden retriever would agree! We really enjoyed the old-world charm, lack of internet connectivity, and friendly caretaker. Would definitely rent the place again!
A pretty decent place very near to the happening places in Goa. Ideal for long term stays. We were there for 3 days and were there with a big family with kids, so going out to buy petty stuff was slightly annoying. Had to go buy mosquito repellants, milk, water etc etc. The water filter wasn't working and the helpers didn't know how to use it properly.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
When we have entered the place there was an air of dampness due to monsoon, but as the villa was opened up and were going through the details, really started liking the place which we were told has a history of more than 100+ years. But the villa is much more stronger than any present day buildings. The rooms are very spacious and has interiors which matched the villa to perfection. No access to Inbox & Idiot Box was a great relief. Early morning coffee in the veranda watching little birds was a pleasant experience.
We were on holiday from Australia, and would genuinely recommend this villa as an amazing Goan experience from yesteryear, the old colonial ambience and furniture, quiet and peaceful being away from the main road. The A/C in the bedrooms was a huge bonus, and the kids loved the outdoor shower/tap. Many restaurants on the main road nearby, the EAT one serves good vegetarian food. One of my indian friends staying nearby phoned up and ordered a typical goan meal, which we then picked up. My 21 yr old son hired a scooter for Rs 200/ day, an absolute steal by western standards, and had a ball riding around as a local. We were there at the end of April, and just got the last night at the famous sat night market ( at Marpusa, I think), which runs all during the tourist season, worth checking out. One of our young indian friends visited us and described this villa as adorable, an apt description. Do yourself a favour, if you want a genuine local experience, stay here instead of a fancy 5 star resort, this is the authentic, real Goa. Can't wait to return!
What a super last minute find for us! This is a beautiful villa tucked away from the main Anjuna-Calangute road, but you would be surprised how much quiet and serenity this villa offers once you are there. The property itself is quite spacious, really meant for a family or a large group. We were three couples and one toddler and the space afforded was a blessing. Aditya is an amazing host - we had trouble operating the AC but he immediately responded to our calls and was able to bring in a technician to help. Personally for me, sitting on the front porch and sipping a morning cuppa listening to peaceful birds' chirping just set the Goa mood going. Here are some tips - the kitchen is fully equipped, so you may want to get basic groceries if you'd like to make your own meals. Baga beach is about a 20-25 min walk, Calangute circle is about 10-15 mins walk. It is advisable to rent your own vehicle or scooters because getting an auto rickshaw can be tricky at times. The house has nice amenities, decent bedding and clean bathrooms. The housekeepers are warm and actually guide you better than other locals in the main town, so take advantage of that. The area seems fairly safe with local residences around. If you are driving to the villa, it is slightly obscured by a small church (not the same one that's on Anjuna-Calangute Rd where you turn in to the narrow lane where the villa is located). Overall, we are very pleased with the luxury this place afforded us, particularly the serenity of the surroundings, the space it gave us and the amenities inside. Strongly recommend!
