Ben was very friendly, and he's created an amazing (email hidden). He gave us a tour and an overview of some of the cool projects they're working on (the aquaponics are neat) and recommended a great brunch place. The room and bed were comfortable and private, and they also make a bunch of their own soap that's available for the shower. Definitely recommend Ben and Heart Haus for a visit to Milwaukee.
Heart Haus is a beautiful house, lovingly decorated, sustainably minded and just comfortable.
Ben is communicative, accommodated my late arrival, and from the the fifteen minute conversation we had before I fell asleep, he's a wealth of information.
Ben was extremely welcoming and kind to our family. We really enjoyed his openness and chatting about his interests in urban farming & sustainability. He is a genuine fellow and will go out of his way to make your stay comfortable and exciting. I think the 20 and early 30 something crowd will especially appreciate his vast network of friends and knack for making everything fun. The house is a labor of love. While its not exactly set up for super young kids (ours were 2 and 4), Ben was very accommodating and did not mind at all when our children wrote on his wall.
We wish Ben well and would love to have him in our lives going forward.
Ben was very friendly and accommodating. We came in with such short notice and he was quite helpful. The room was cozy and quiet and located near great restaurants and shops. He even made us fresh juice in the morning!
If it's possible, Heart Haus is even better than last time I stayed. As I was one of Ben's first Air BnB guests, I had a few suggestions that I thought night make future guests more comfortable. Ben not only applied each of my suggestions, but went above and beyond. Several thoughtful touches enhanced an already superb experience. (email hidden)-- just simply by virtue of my physical presence in the home, I will be attending a seminar on making kombucha. Last visit I learned how to sprout my own wheatgrass and microgreens. Ben is a responsive and welcoming host and his personal warmth & generous hospitality-- not to mention the beauty of this home--make Heart Haus a place I will stay again and again.
The physical space (email hidden) is gorgeous-- gleaming, newly refinished
hard wood floors, fully equipped kitchen with a new fridge AND a juicer, laundry on site, etc. The large and comfortable private bedroom Ben provided was immaculately clean, and I slept like a baby aided greatly by the thoughtfully installed black out curtains in the room. Ben was so welcoming and made me feel completely at ease in the shared spaces of the house. The amenities here-- killer wifi, freshly remodeled bathroom, eclectic & charmingly quirky decor-- don't begin to do justice to what is the real draw of this gem of a house. The concept of Heart Haus is inspired and Ben's passion for his home and his vision for the mission of this space are evident in both his demeanor and the obvious pride in & love he has for the space. Fascinating, passionate and engaging people come through the house daily-- whether to lead a small seminar on sprouting your own microgreens or to brainstorm future projects. My (email hidden) was my first Air BnB experience, and I would say I could not have had a better first foray into Air BnB. If they're all as comfortable and inspired as Heart Haus, I will never stay in a hotel again. All told, a great stay-- superb host, lovely house, and best of all, a new friend in Ben. Don't hesitate-- book it ASAP, you won't be disappointed.
Heart Haus is truly an experience. It's so unique. It's a home. It's a community space. It's an idea in urban planning. Ben was a fantastic host and educated us on the variety of things (email hidden), and the history of this home. He could not be more accommodating and exemplifies what the AirBnB experience is supposed to be. We came to that house as strangers and left as friends. And when we return to Milwaukee, I hope we can stay again.
I didn't meet him, but he left the place very clean and tidy.
Ben was a last second request for us here and an excellent opportunity to meet Ben; so glad that I said "yes" to come over to spend the night here. Ben is positive and very knowledgeable, esp. since he is an interesting entenapeur (sp). Ben is welcome back anytime!
Ben was a really chill guy. He visited SF to learn more about the city before starting design school in the spring. He went out of his way to help around the house with whatever needed to get done. He even brought us these delicious bagels for breakfast one morning!!! I highly recommend Ben as a guest, and hope others in the AB&B community get an opportunity to host him.
