Co-Host: I am in Finance and soon entering the real estate market. Michael, co host and son attending St John's University for Accounting and Business.
I was in town as a medical student completing an elective rotation at Richmond University Medical Center. The location is convenient if you have a car, about 10-15 min depending on traffic. The room is very comfortable, with en-suite bathroom, space to hang clothing, and drawers made available for folded items. Having breakfast included was a great plus.
I enjoyed Marianne and her family very much, they are a welcoming and easy to get along with bunch. Also, she is a great cook :)
Very clean, well furnished room and very good price. Located in a nice neighborhood, and Marianne and her son were extremely friendly and helpful. I had a great stay and would definitely come back.
Marianne was a gracious and friendly host. The house was in a safe and convenient neighborhood, and our room was the perfect size for a short visit to see family and friends in Staten Island and Manhattan.
I have stayed here so many times I can't count. Amenities have been added since I first reviewed the room. It is a great place to stay while my co op purchase in Manhattan is held up.
The studio apartment is very comfortable and has all a person needs. Marianne has been an excellent host,so kind,so clean and helpful as well. Ihave tasted some of optional dinners and they are so delicious .I recommend her place and the convenience of stores, restaurants, buses ,train and ferry to NYC
Marianne was very pleasant, and she communicated well about the reservation.
I have stayed here many times which speaks for itself. Please see my earlier reviews.
Very friendly! The room was extremely nice and clean. Variety of cable channels including NBA TV! Really enjoyed the experience
Marianne is one of the best hosts on Airbnb and this room is one of the best values you can find anywhere in NYC.
The room is warm and comfortable and right across the hall from the shared bathroom.
There is a choice of how to get to the city. You can take the express bus for six dollars each way. This gets you to and from lower Manhattan in about a half hour or to and from mid town in more like an hour and a half. (This is very fast by NYC standards.)
Alternatively, you can take the city bus or the SIR to the ferry and take the ferry to lower Manhattan. This gets you to lower Manhattan in an hour to an hour and a half depending on schedules.
Considering the price that Marianne charges, this is extremely convenient to the city.
Also there are two city busses within close walking distance that will take you to Bay Ridge in Brooklyn where you could also catch the subway to Manhattan.
If you have a car, you are only about fifteen minutes from New Jersey or Manhattan.
If you use a car in the area, you will want to get a Bridges and Tunnels EZ Pass as soon as possible to make it easier to pay tolls.
Getting around Staten Island from Marianne's house is quite convenient by bus because she is in walking distance to several bus routes and in walking distance to grocery shops, pharmacies, and restaurants.
Book early to avoid disappointment. Marianne is very popular with people who know about her so you could easily miss out if you don't book quickly.
I have stayed here on and off for nearly a year and a few times I missed out on booking here because I did not book early enough. Each time I had to stay somewhere that was more expensive and not as convenient.
