Appart super sympa . Très bien situé . Les voisins y st très sympas . Comme une famille . Merci pour tout
We had a very relaxing stay in Damien's flat. It was very comfortable and cosy and very conveniently situated in Les Lilas which is a very attractive suburb of Paris. The flat is close to everything you need: bakery, various mouth-watering food stores and the metro. We look forward very much to stay in Damien's flat again in the future.
Damien's apartment is in a great neighborhood (Lilas), for visiting Paris for those who don't want to be right in the city center but prefer a family type neighborhood near a metro stop with plenty of shops just downstairs ( grocers, bakers and butchers ) and other amenities within a few blocks (restaurants, ATM's, even a neighborhood public library!). It was a comfortable apartment on the sixth floor with nice views out the windows. There was a typically tiny Parisian elevator [so be prepared for several trips if you bring a lot of luggage :-) ] and the bathroom and WC are Parisian tiny as well but worked out fine. It was a quaint and quiet building and, at least during our visit, we met some very friendly neighbors. The #11 metro line ended just a few blocks short of the apartment building and was a very fast way to get downtown in a hurry without getting lost ( it ends at the Chatalet station where you can pop up above ground or transfer to several other lines). We did, however, pay a moderate to high "Parisian" price to park at the "town garage" which is an underground lot across the street and about three doors down since we were reluctant to leave our car on the streets and didn't want to run afoul of the neighborhood parking rules. All in all a nice place to stay.
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans un très bel appartement, proche de toutes commodités !
Damien's apartment fully lived up to all the previous reviews. It's stylishly decorated, conveniently located and has a very comfortable bed. What more could you want?
Others have mentioned the collection of old cameras, the typewriter and other interesting ornaments. There's also a turntable for the hi-fi system, with a selection of vinyl albums. As the pictures show, the hall table is an antique treadle sewing machine!
Among other gadgets, there's a Philips daylight alarm clock - it gradually wakes you by increasing the light level very slowly over around half an hour, simulating the dawn, and playing the sound of birds singing.
Like most in Paris, the kitchen is small but it's well equipped. Among other things it has a dishwasher, which is nice to have when on holiday. And it even has a kettle, which in the past has been unusual in French homes.
The small balcony outside the bedroom would have been a nice place to sit and drink coffee made in the Nespresso machine. But Autumn fog and drizzle dampened its attraction. Maybe next time.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
If you stay in Damien's apartment it will be easy to feel like a real Parisien. The place is welcoming, homey, charming, clean, and quiet. The neighborhood (Les Lilas) is terrific--very lively, with everything you need almost right outside your door. Damien and his girlfriend welcomed me very warmly--we enjoyed good conversation in English and French over a late-night supper on the very animated rue Tiquetonne. I hope to see them again, in France, or the U. S., or both!
Hi. In Paris were in yours. Apartments were pleasant, everything is to spend some romantic days in Paris. The functional kitchen, good drawing room and excellent bed. Fine balcony with a little table. The photo on a site is true. Damien the hospitable master, very much worried that to us was comfortable. The apartment is located on the quiet street, to the metro 100m, to center 20-30min. I will surely advise to the friends!
(email hidden)
This was our first experience with airbnb and I have to say that Damien and his apartment helped to make it great.
Damien was not there at the same time but left everything arranged and he was available on his number when needed.
Apartment is not centric but very well placed, with underground free/secured parking spot and just 5mins walking to the metro station: line 11 that goes direct to the heart of Paris in 15/20mins.
Apartment is really nice and shows Damien's great taste. Many details to mention but for me the camera collection and the classic typewriter were the best. The little balcony outside is very 'frenchy' and has a beautiful view of Sacre Coeur de Montmartre.
Regarding comfort he has supplied the place with all you might need: fully equipped kitchen (gas stoves are the best), phone, hi-fi, dvd reader, flat tv, etc. Perhaps the bathroom is the only thing a bit tiny but was enough for us. Bed is big and comfortable.
I will recommend Damien's place with no doubt for any couple staying in Paris for few days.
