Una pura optimista. No road too difficult. Easycoming, easygoing.
Really enjoyed staying in Kerouac room in Granada. Very clean and comfortable. Nice pool. Tasty breakfast. Great accommodation for any dharma bum or lonesome traveler on the road.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Our stay with Robert and Argentina was absolutely wonderful. They were kind, accommodating and helpful. Not only is the house beautiful, but it is in a perfect central location close to the park, restaurants and bars. I completely fell in love with Granada and would come back and stay here in a heartbeat!
Stay here! A wonderful place. The pictures are accurate. The location is great (one block from Park Central). Roberto and Argentina are extremely friendly and hospitable. It absolutely feels like you are visiting friends in their home. But, also they will give you your privAcy if that is what you prefer. I can't wait to return.
What a gem of a place! Walking through the heavy wooden doors, just steps away from the bustle of downtown Granada, you enter an oasis. The place is everything we wanted: comfortable, clean, gracious and beautiful. The location cannot be beat either. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, and the coffee was excellent! Robert was very helpful in every way, with suggestions on places to go and things to do, and he helped arrange for a driver with a car for a day to take us out of the city to Masaya volcano and other great spots. We loved the place, and hope to visit again.
This was a great place in a great location. The bedroom was very big and comfortable, the pool was refreshing, and the breakfasts were good. While we didn't know any Spanish other guests helped us communicate with Argentina (Robert was away) who was very personable. I highly recommend this place with just one minor disappointment. The happy hour mentioned in the description never happened on any of the days we stayed there so you shouldn't plan to be around for it.
Response from Argentina And Robert:
Hi Leland, I am happy you were happy. The fact I was away meant no happy hour!!! as Argentina was sad I was away. But now being back there is happy hour!!!
The Ice Room was very basic, but clean and comfortable and the palace itself, particularly the courtyard pool, is very beautiful. The location is pretty much as central as you can get, amazing for getting around to check out the very vibrant and amazing city!
We actually arrived with a reservation for 2 nights, having corresponded back and forth with Robert frequently for weeks, only to be told that there were no available rooms. However, Argentina (with some difficulty, as we don't speak Spanish and she doesn't speak English, and Robert was not around...) told us that she would find us a room elsewhere for the first night, and then we could come back for the second. Though not ideal to have to move, she found us a really lovely place, also close to the town centre, took us there herself, and made all the arrangements amongst herself and the other operator as far as payment, etc.
We would recommend the Ice Room, however may be easier as far as communication with the hosts and staff with some Spanish.
My friend and I made a decision on a whim to visit Granada, Nicaragua at the end of a trip to Costa Rica and we weren't disappointed! Robert and Argentina were great host and extremely flexible. We stayed on the top floor that has an open concept with an absolutely beautiful view of the volcano, cathedral, and rooftops. We slept at night with the sound of music coming from the bar across the street. It is a easy come/easy go laid back atmosphere. Being laid back and adventurous it worked for us. Madeline cooked a beautiful breakfast for us in the morning (regardless of the time) and it was delicious. If you are a laid back, easy going person(s) this is the place. With majestic views and a perfect location close to centre with lots of neat places to eat lunch, dinner or just coffee and dessert. We did it all in the immediate vicinity. I would definitely recommend this place and will hopefully get back there some day.
This is a very nice property in the tourist area of Granada. Robert is a very relaxed host. We arrived late and using an offline mapping app we were able to find the location quite easily. Robert gave us instruction and basically the run of the house. We had a few drinks and off to visit the town. Upon return we couldn't get out key to work which was quite funny! We were turning it wrong. I contemplated scaling the roof. Ha but true. We got in shortly. The room was more than excellent. 20' ceilings, colonial decor. Great air conditioning (I suffered from sunburn and being from Indiana). The breakfast prepared by his staff was exceptional. Arranged to depart late that evening and Robert gave us the run of the loft. Which, I would try and stay in next time. It has to be seen and felt to be appreciated. All in all I would recommended. Don't overthink this place. Robert stays back and really almost feels like a guest and not the proprietor. Didn't really get to know Argentina. Maybe in the future...
Recommended for value, comfort and location.
After a long flight from cold New York City, we found ourselves sitting on a hammock with a surreally beautiful view of the pool in the courtyard below and a volcano past the colonial homes in the distance. The "room" truly is an entire apartment. Every which way there's an incredible vista -- even the bathroom inspires photos. After an evening dip in the pool, we found ourselves eating fresh ceviche at the restaurant on the other side of the house. We were tempted to stay an extra night or find a way to come back on our way out of Nicaragua. It's a great place for a romantic getaway or a productive escape (with solid wireless, the peaceful courtyard is a great place to do work during the day.) Robert and Argentina are lovely. They called us cars, gave us restaurant recommendations, and let us stay long past our check-out time. The only downside is that the open-air loft may leave one feeling a bit exposed. We found ourselves wishing that there was perhaps a curtain in front of the bed. You probably don't want to walk around naked, because even though you're a floor above, you may find yourself making eye contact with people below by the pool This becomes less of a problem late at night when everyone has gone to sleep. Others have also written about the fact that it can get loud. This is true. There's a bar next door. On a Saturday night there may be music. It didn't bother us though. We just danced.
Erik y su novia fueron muy buenos huéspedes y los recomendamos a futuros anfitriones.
