Brian's unique shotgun house in Mid-City has every convenience to make your stay in NOLA a great one. It's just a short walk to the Canal Street Streetcar, or bus, which will get you to City Park, the Fairgrounds, New Orleans Museum, Cemeteries, or The French Quarter, and the St Charles Street connection to the Garden District, Uptown, and the CBD and art galleries. Brian is VERY plugged into the music scene in NOLA and will gladly make wonderful recommendations on where to go for great music, some of which are free. If you're visiting NOLA for music, this is the place to stay.
We had a great long weekend in New Orleans. Brian was a great host. His place was located near a streetcar stop, so it was very easy and cheap to get to and from the French Quarter and other areas, even late at night. The room was comfortable and clean, and Brian provided some great tips on what to see, how to get there, safety, etc. Brian was also very laid back and great about respecting our privacy in a shared space. His dog is a very sweet, social little guy, and Brian has him pretty well trained. All in all, this was a very good experience and we would come back in the future.
Brian was a great host for our weeklong stay in NOLA. He was very helpful with getting us oriented to the city, giving recommendations for good food and good music (bonus! one of the best music & bbq places in NOLA is a five minute walk from his house!). Roux was also very very sweet and he will be very much missed :)
Terrific place, terrific host! The bedroom is comfortable and clean, good comfy bed (always important!), bathroom is well-stocked with shampoos etc. We never felt we were intruding when using the kitchen or shared sitting room. I fell in love with little Roux the dog!
The location is good, in the mid-city area, about 3 blocks from the Canal St streetcar. Very easy to get around. We were also fortunate as Brian had bikes available for us too.
Brian is a generous host, who clearly loves New Orleans, and we were fortunate to gain from his knowledge and love of the city. He was also generous with his time, and joined us as we watched some of the Mardi Gras parades. He also shared his secret insider knowledge of some of his favourite places to eat and drink and hang out :) We fell in love with New Orleans and its people, and much of that credit goes to Brian, and all his invaluable knowledge and suggestions. Thank you Brian & Rebecca, and little Roux!
Brian, Rebecca, and spunky Roux are terrific and generous hosts. This was our first visit to Nola. Brian gave many insider tips so we're able to experience the city like locals, from food to music venues, public transport to tourist attractions. The house is situated conveniently in Mid City, 3 blocks away from the Canal Street Car. If you prefer a quieter neighborhood and don't mind the daily trip to the touristy areas (they're about 2-3 miles away via public transport), then this house is perfect for you. Clean, roomy bedroom with a very comfortable bed, clean and well-stocked private bathroom, and we felt at home sharing the kitchen, dining and living room areas. Wifi worked great, as my husband, who had to work aplenty during this "vacation" can attest. :-)
Brian and Rebecca made us feel at home sharing their cute house with us. His place is very well kept, we were able to use the kitchen every morning to make the breakfast and even cooked a meal once. Brian and Rebecca were very helpful recommending clubs, bars and restaurants,as well as other places to visit in and around New Orleans. We would like to come back one day and stay with Brian and Rebecca again.
I had a great time in New Orleans for Thanksgiving. Brian was a great host and made sure we had our needs met. He had a Wii that entertained my son too! The bedroom was comfortable and the shower was equipped with body wash and lotions if we needed it. I was able to (email hidden) in the kitchen for the Thanksgiving potluck my family had. I was very pleased with the space, with Roux (his clever dog), and Brian's hospitality. Thanks NOLA for the good time!
Brian's apt is nice, clean and very confortable, great queen bed. Easy to go to the center (French quarter and all the main attractions) by tram, bus or car; he also has a couple of bikes (just 10-15 min ride!) He is being such a friend! he is so generous, easy going and relaxed person and so interesting to talk to... he will make you love NOLA as much as he loves it :) I'll absolutelly recommend his place. We will miss him and Roux (the cutest dog ever!)
Brian is absolutely charming, and so is his hip home in this cute nook of Mid-City. The house was immaculate, his hospitality was abundant, and we could not have had a better stay. Will have to come here again!
