Transplant to Puerto Rico in 1989, it's a great place to live.

Erik's apartment was exactly what we were looking for, a clean convenient place to crash before an early morning flight. We appreciated the cold water in the fridge, the strong AC, and most of all - his excellent dining recommendations. We're still dreaming about Heather's pizza in Culebra... Erik is as friendly and responsive as hosts come. We'd love to come back and stay here again.
Erik is a wonderful host. He stayed in contact all the way and made sure I got there ok! The place is, as mentioned in the description, cheap! If that's what you're looking for than its perfect. There were some dogs barking which kept me up and the bed wasn't super comfortable but everything else was in good working order. A mattress pad would probably help a lot. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you're looking to not splurge or need a place to crash near the airport before venturing further into the country.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Erik's place for one night, after a red eye flight to San Juan. It was a great location for us--just 10-15 mins from the airport. Erik was extremely hospitable--he was up to greet us when we arrived and very responsive by text when we were searching for somewhere to eat in the morning. The place was exactly as advertised: a relatively spacious bedroom and kitchenette with A/C and privacy. It was too bare-bones for us to have enjoyed spending multiple nights there, but it was a perfect spot for a one-night layover.
P.S. There was some pretty loud construction noise in the morning, so bring earplugs if you want to sleep in!
Nice, affordable, quiet neighborhood. Erik lives right upstairs and familiarized us with the apartment. We stayed here on our last night in Puerto Rico. The apartment was a short drive from the airport. Google maps was unable to locate the address but with Erik's directions we had no problem finding the apartment.
My wife, son (toddler) and I were just looking for a place to crash before heading to the airport the next morning. Erik was very flexible for our last minute reservation and he even let us check in early. He was always quick to respond to questions via text.
At this price, we weren't expecting the Hilton so we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the whole apartment and the comfy mattress. Yeah the apartment is small but we were only there to sleep so nbd.
I highly recommend Erik's place for a basic and clean accommodation.
My partner and I needed a place to stay during our last couple of nights in PR and were both happy we found Erik's. He was an extremely welcoming host, accommodated our SUPER late check in, made us coffee in the morning, offered to look after my service dog, and is just a great guy! Location was perfect as we were able to connect with friends in Carolina and San Juan, run all of our last minute errands, AND rush to catch our flight. The space was a perfect size for us, complete with the most comfy bed! Overall, this was a great experience for my partner and I. Thank you Erik!!
Erik was a great host! He greeted us with bananas and water, much needed after a full day of travel. Erik was super kind, funny, and was comfortable with me hitting him up via text in the morning and evening for food recommendations (he knows what he’s talking about!) and overall housing communication (very pleasant, in both English and Spanish). The listing is accurate and such a deal. It’s clean, private, and comfortable. Beautiful in the morning. Comes with A/C and TV. There's a grocery store nearby if you want to use the kitchen (we didn’t use it, ate out) and a Walgreens relatively close as well. The listing is somewhat difficult to find at first, but that really reflects the non-grid setup of Carolina y San Juan. It’s also about a 20 minute drive from San Juan, so you’ll definitely need a car to get around and a sober driver if you want to go out and drive back late (because local drivers do the most with no signals and speed). The neighborhood is quiet at night and lively in the AM. Overall, I would definitely recommend Erik’s place. We didn’t have one problem.
Erik made us feel very welcome. Our flight arrived extremely early and he was kind enough to allow us to check in a little earlier than listed. The place was just like the pictures and very easy to find. Erik was super helpful and offered recommendations on places to see and where to eat. I would absolutely stay here again :)
Good experience, Erik is very kind and the places is quite clean. Convenient transportation to old San Juan, and many restaurants around the places. Overall, it's a good place to experience local life!
We had a great experience staying at Erik's place. He's a nice man and would provide you all the information you need about the neighbourhood/ country and things you want to know how to get around etc. Erik came to pick us up at the station. We definitely would come back to stay. If you want to escape the commercial part of Puerto Rico, you should stay here and experience the local life. Easy to get around to liquillo, fajardo and el yunque.
