Jan welcomed us warmly. He has been very convenient regarding the time of our arrival.
The room is very well located in the center of Jordaan.
We found a lot of guides in the room in different languages.
We spend 2nights in Amsterdam. Despite the close church which is ringing its bells a little bit too often, the place is calm and cosy.

We had a great time. The area is really nice, safe and all sights are within walking distance. Jan replied very fast and contact with him was nice. The place is cool, But mind the very steep stairs of the apartment. Also, as People mentioned before, You need to be very close with the person you are renting the room with as there is No real door between the room and bathroom. definitely a nice place, especially for Younger People.
Even though Jan was away when we arrived, he made sure his daughter was here to welcome us.
The room is very cute, the bed feels like you're sleeping on a cloud and the location and views are great!! The bathroom is attached to the room so you really need to be intimate with the person you're travelling with, otherwise, we had a great stay at Jan's place.
Jan was extremely friendly and welcoming and checking in was efficient and easy. The simple, cosy room with attached bathroom was perfect for our needs. Clean and pleasant with a romantic view over the rooftops of Amsterdam. Great location in the Jordaan near great bars, restaurants, cafes. Note: Bathroom doesn't have a true door separating it from the bedroom, so you'd have to be on close terms with anyone you shared the room with! Steep climb up stairs to get to the room, so not advisable for anyone with physical/health limitations.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Jan's flat which is superbly situated in the Jordaan. All the arrangements went very smoothly and contributed to a very pleasant experience. We quickly adapted to the steep stairs but did find the accommodation a little cold and would have appreciated additional floor coverings .. especially in the unusual WC/bathroom!
Jan was a gracious host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The flat is small but cozy, and in a traditional narrow house, with a nice view of the rooftops of Jordaan. The one thing we had trouble with was the wifi -- the signal wasn't great unless you positioned yourself at the foot of the bed. Also beware the downstairs neighbor, an elderly woman who you need to tread lightly around. It's worth a stay though because it's much nicer than some of the touristy places where you can find yourself.
It was a pleasure stating with Jan--not only was he friendly and helpful, his guest apartment is beautiful and cozy. Also, it's located in my personal favorite part of the city so that doesn't hurt either. Highly recommend!
Home away from home! Jan was wonderful getting us set up and helping with our luggage up the stairs. Things to know if you wish to stay in this wonderful nest:
- it's amazingly CLEAN!
- the view is wonderful
- there is a bar two doors away with a pool table that's 1 euro / game
- the neighborhood is quiet, but the church tower bells ring every 15 minutes all night...so take earplugs
- He's not kidding about those stairs...they are vertical and narrow and are not for anyone with a physical ailment
- it's like having your own little apartment!
We absolutely loved staying at Jan's and will recommend his place to everyone we know who is traveling through Amsterdam!
Jan is was a very kind host. I forgot my charger and he kindly got me one to use. Having my own entrance was great to avoid disturbing others. Traditional Dutch house with a contemporary feel. The area is great as it's very easy to get to. Thanks for letting me stay. Best
