We have lived in rural Northern California for many, many years, but moved to Burnt Ranch in 2003. Our 6-acre property was originally a summer cabin and retreat for a university professor. We've spent years, our own labor, and a great deal of enjoyment making it a special place to call our own. We love it so much we enjoy sharing it with others. Burnt Ranch itself is not much of a "town" (post office, store, school, and USFS station), but that suits us just fine, especially with the Trinity River just down the hill from our property and with the mountains and trees absolutely gorgeous at our 2000 ft elevation.
We also travel when we can and we have exchanged our home with folks from Europe. We have children in Portland, OR, and Santa Rosa as well as close by, and make frequent trips to visit them and our grandkids. We love being outdoors, gardening, enhancing our property, reading, and doing computer activities. Sarah is an administrator at the County Office of Education and I work at our local school part-time as a Tech Coordinator.
