Trudy and Kim were incredibly thoughtful hosts from setting the fireplace nightly alight to accommodating our need fur extra bed at one point to sharing food and bevie when coming in from a long day of dealing with curve balls life pitches st you. Their animals are dear and a big comfort as is their home. I will return here when in this part of the Hudson Valley. Cheers T&K!
Trudy and Kim were absolutely amazing hosts! We are new to airbnb and from the second we arrived they made us feel welcomed and exceeded our expectations in terms of the room and their recommendations. Their entire home is extremely cozy, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The room, which in fact was an entire private studio apartment on the bottom floor of the home, had a separate entrance, upgraded appliances (HD TV, stainless steel kitchen, half bath), and 2 well behaved cats. Although we were only staying with them for one night, Trudy and Kim gave us plenty of recommendations for dinner and entertainment in the area, and also allowed us to take advantage of their beautiful 2nd floor deck with space heaters and fire pit to enjoy the night. We took their advice and went to one of their favorite Italian restaurants "Ca' Mea" in Hudson, NY. The dinner was amazing and exactly what we were looking for. After dinner we came back to our "apartment" and enjoyed the Mets game on their HD TV. In the morning, we were greeted with warm coffee, cinnamon buns, pleasant conversation, and a beautiful view of their backyard forest on their second floor deck. We got to know both Trudy and Kim better and really enjoyed learning about how they decided to settle in the area and built their dream house. Finally, we ended our morning with a casual ATV ride. Truly a check off the bucket-list! Trudy, Kim, and Danny, were gracious enough to allow us to attempt riding their ATV's through the forest trails. The experience of riding through an autumn forest, being showered with a glow of yellow leaves, and being chased by some friendly four-legged companions was absolutely unforgettable. I highly recommend Trudy and Kim's charming upstate getaway to anyone who enjoys a country getaway, in a comfortable environment, with many happy four-legged companions. We hope to come back very soon!
Trudy was wonderful and accommodated our getting in from a party late. Arrival and departure time was very flexible. I really enjoyed talking with her and Pam in the morning.
Trudy and Kim were awesome! Right away we felt like family, they got a situated in our room where we had our own bathroom and kitchen area along with our bed and TV. We couldn't have asked for better hospitality :-)
We loved staying with Trudy & Kim!
Trudy’s great with communication. We were able to book at the last minute on a holiday weekend because of Trudy’s quick, efficient communication. In addition, we appreciate the Host’s flexibility in accommodating our arrival time as we were having car issues. Trudy sent us clear directions to their home as well as how to check ourselves in freeing us to enjoy a leisurely dinner in Hudson N.Y.
Our arrival to their property was a real treat! The dirt road winds though the woods passing babbling brooks & streams and we loved spotting the wild blackberry bushes! The home is nestled on the edge of the deep woods & has several trails that explore the feral forest. The unpretentious, casual, outdoor atmosphere allows for rugged outdoor fun (mountain biking, hiking, four wheeling / dirt biking, snowshoeing, e.c.t.) and has enough space and equipment for outside get-togethers (cook outs, bonfires, outdoor movie nights & games).
Their home is just like the photos but better. The interior is tastefully decorated in a classic, rustic, log cabin motif. The woodsy lodge like interior is comfortable, well equipped, clean and homey. The many ceiling fans and open screened windows allowed us to stay comfortably cool by way of the brisk forest air without A.C. Our room and bath were clean, private, uncluttered and off limits to the household pets. We slept in a cozy bed made-up with fresh sheets. An added bonus was the T.V. with Direct TV & DVD player that can be viewed from bed. The hosts also provided us with fresh Vera Wang towels, new bar of soap, shampoo & conditioner.
As Hosts, Kim & Trudy are friendly, kind, always accessible to answer your questions but are also non-intrusive. They were gracious enough to grant us prior approval to use their kitchen and outside grill which allowed us to enjoy the area’s farm fresh foods. They give many great local suggestions, Kim even went out on her ATV Quad and got us fresh eggs from their neighbor! When I went for a run on the trails they let me take their lab, Riley, with me for company. I was even able to pick the wild blackberries on the walk back. Great Airbnb hosts make these moments possible, a level of service that hotels can’t provide but that Trudy & Kim surely do. Staying with animals was one reason we chose this listing and we loved the company of their dogs; Riley, Cooper, & Harley, their parakeet & small fish tank. At our request Kim introduced us to their two adorable cats that live in their own quarters.
The location was perfect. Acram is in the S.E. corner of Columbia County surrounded by rolling farmland vistas. At night the woods are alive with fireflies & the sounds of owls, bats, and even coyotes howling in the distance. This place is a hidden gem and the hosts are the epitome of hospitality and homestay ideals!
Trudy & Kim are great host and just two authentic people who made my trip a bodacious journey. They are the sweetest peeps made me feel right at home, in 3 days I felt like I known them for years. The all green environment, homie atmosphere, along with all their dogs and even cats (even though I am allergic), I had a great time. The last day I met Danny, who is an awesome dude. He took me fishing as we went quading through dirt roads.. later we talked about football and just shooting the breeze. I had an awesome little getaway, thanks guys!
Trudy was very quick to respond prior to our stay, and very welcoming upon our arrival. The room we stayed in is a small bedroom, but was fine for our one night upstate. We had access to our own bathroom, and Trudy left towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap for our use. If you're staying here you must like animals! The dogs greeted us when we drove in and there was dog hair throughout the house which did get on stuff. There are also birds in the living room, and cats in the basement (although we didn't see them). All the dogs were friendly though, just like their owner.
The listing is accurate. The property is beautiful! We booked last minute just looking for a place to sleep so that was a lifesaver. Trudy warned me about the cats but I took it, anyway, and I have to say the cats are ADORABLE!!! There are three dogs that continuously barked all night which was a little tough but I think it was because Trudy wasn't there. I had ear plugs, anyway, just because I started traveling with them. The space is nice, the bathroom is clean, again, the pets are really cute. I wish we could have stayed longer just to play with them!
Trudy and Kim made us feel very welcome and we had a great time playing with the dogs. They left us with some recommendations for local visits and eateries.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Trudy and Kim with Miley were all so very sweet. They arrived on scheduled, departed early to get ahead of the storm and cleaned up after themselves.
We enjoyed chatting with them and getting to know them. They seemed to be more like friends after the first day then AIRBNB guests.

Trudy is such an awesome host, she made my friends and me feel SO welcome that I came back a second time! And I know exactly where I'm staying next time I hit upstate NY. Not only did she welcome us into her home, but she knew all of the coolest stuff to see and do in the area and really made our visit an adventure in discovering the 'real America'.
The house is great, it has a really warm friendly vibe plus they have a HUGE backyard and you can even go hiking along a stream that runs along the rear of their property. The place is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I have to say, sitting by the campfire, smoking cigars and staring up at that BRILLIANT star filled sky is a night I'll never forget. Thanks again Trudy, Kim and the 3 dogs Casey, Harley (my personal favourite!) and of course the newest addition Riley :)
