Native Detroiter. I have also lived in: Montreal, Quebec; Saint Petersburg, Russia; and Washington, D.C.
I work as the Director of Democratic Transitions and Media Analysis at Post-Soviet Graffiti and love it. I get to spend my days interviewing brilliant activists and politically-savvy artists from around the world, writing research-intensive pieces for cool magazines and websites, planning creative and educational events, and teaching teens about social justice and human rights in Eastern Europe.
I have used AirBNB on my own travels when visiting New Orleans, Prague, and Moscow for work. My favorite travel destinations are either to Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula or to the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. I like to host because I get to introduce a place that I love--the City of Detroit--to interesting people from all over the world.
