To me, strangers are friends that I haven't met yet. I have been an active member of (website hidden) and loved it. I met so many wonderful people that have become friends.
I just married my wife in Central Park, NY on 9/2/12. We have six kids, one grandson and a dog. When the kids were growing up, we called ourselves "The Adventurers". Really, what do you do to keep six kids (5 boys & 1 girl) from being bored and fighting? We would get up on a Saturday morning and go on an adventure. Half of the time, we didn't have a destination in mind, we just wanted to get out and explore.
We have traveled quite a bit throughout the US and are looking forward to start traveling internationally. One son is in the AF stationed in Japan, we are looking forward to visiting him in 2014.
We love exploring out-of-the-way, non-tourist places, one of the great advantage of staying with locals. Stopping at small hole-in-the wall restaurants and sampling Native food is a passion of ours.
As guests we will treat your home as if it were our own. My parents taught me growing up, to leave your camping spot, picnic area better than how you found it. (Yep, I did listen sometimes to my parents.)
