I'm a native Austinite, but moved back after being gone for over ten years, via New York and California. I love all the things to do in Austin and love people to come share in the coolness of our town.

We had a great stay at Sara's immaculate and beautifully curated artistic home! The quiet neighborhood has a sweet and homey feel. We walked down to the Cherrywood every morning for a breakfast of local food and great coffee. The house is super-close to UT and downtown so we spent little time in traffic even though the SXSW Festival was going on. Sara is a lovely person and was always available and accommodating. Staying at Sarah's made our time in Austin feel like we had a true experience of the place...so much better than a hotel!
The cottage was perfect for a short weekend in Austin. It felt very private, and came with everything we needed – right down to the Austin IPA in the mini fridge, and the koozies to go along with it. On a frigid February weekend, it wasn't within walking distance of much, but there's a great little cafe 3 blocks away (Cherrywood) and the proximity to the freeway and main roads offers easy access to downtown, east Austin, and north Austin.
The cottage was delightful and the neighborhood charming. Private and peaceful, it was also very convenient to downtown. Everything was just as described and very clean. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and stay here again, a great alternative to a predictable hotel room!
This stylish home was a great location for our family. We corresponded with the owner primarily by texts, which worked well. We enjoyed cooking leisurely breakfasts in the kitchen and gathering in the dining room and living room together.
This space was exactly what we needed during our visit to Austin. Great location, beautiful space and so easy to find. We loved how low key the process was and how easy it was to come and go. I highly recommend this spot to anyone needing a comfy place to lay their heads while taking in all of the fun Austin has to offer.
Rachel was easy and a clean respectful guest.
Sara provides all details as soon as you book the room. I never met her but she was quick to respond to any texts.
The little cottage was clean and has a private entrance. There is a convenient 24 hour La Fiesta Mart at the end of her street.
I would recommend staying here if you want to be in a quiet, tree lined area, with friendly neighbours and convenient free parking. Within an easy drive to downtown and close to a major highway.
Sara provides all details as soon as you book the room. The little cottage was clean and we had a private entrance and the back yard. We enjoyed the book collection and as it was our first time in austin we appreciated the travel guides. Public transport was not an issue and we loved the cherrywood cafe and the La Fiesta Mart which is open 24 hours in case of emergency purchases (a 3 min walk away).
Would recommend staying here if you want to be in a quiet and beautiful area, with friendly neighbours, and to relax in the garden.
I never met Sara. The only communication was text messages wanting to know whether we could leave early on thanksgiving so it could be cleaned for next guests. Perhaps she was gone.
The house was in a quiet backyard with trees, close to my daughter and the cherrywood coffeehouse where we went everyday. The bed was really really comfortable.
The only problems we had were an electric plug near the bed that didn't work and the refrigerator froze all our food even tho it was turned down low.
Sara's place was exactly as it was described. Very basic, but with exactly what you need for a few nights. A perfect little writing retreat if you need one & the neighborhood was very quiet!
Excellent accommodations and very easy to coordinate with Sara. Would definitely come back.
Travis was a wonderful guy and very easy to communicate and get along with. I had the pleasure of meeting him and he really presents himself in a kind and easy going way. Kudos. He has two very big thumbs up, a definite recommendation.
Sara's husband Travis stayed at my home & was a perfect guest! I would host him anytime...he was very polite & easy to get along with!
I've known Sara for about 6 years and her husband, Travis, for most of my life. They are an extremely kind, even-keeled couple who will make you feel right at home in their recently remodeled guest cottage.
