I'm Krista, a Teacher from Canada in her mid-thirties who made her way to London over seven years ago. The handsome guy beside me in the photos is my husband, Erik. If you want to get a really good sense of what I'm about, check out wodara (dot org), in particular my profile on there.

After finishing uni, I left Canada for a few years of work and travel in Asia and Europe before moving to the UK for a year to do the same. One thing led to another and I was still in the UK three years (email hidden)d moving to London to buy my first house at the age of 27.

On a single Teacher's salary, I could only afford a house that needed a lot of work and so I spent the next five years fixing up Explorers' Rest to what it is today. At the house there are photos of all the dust, blood, sweat and tears that went into creating my little London haven. :-)

When I met Erik and we moved into his place together, I decided to turn my house into a holiday home (like the ones we enjoy renting in our travels) to see how it went. Well, it's been a massive heart-warming success and managing my home is now my favorite hobby! I love welcoming guests into my home, I love shopping for little decor items that my guests may enjoy, and I love meeting lovely people from all over the world.

Erik and I travel as often as we can and the one thing we always treasure is to come home at the end of the day's explorations to a place that feels like home. My guests regularly tell me that Explorers' Rest immediate feels like home to them and that they missed nothing during their stay. I hope the same is true for you if you decide to enjoy a holiday at Explorers' Rest.

Doug Ivester has some important words for us all: 'Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.' May we all continue to have new and exciting experiences around the globe! And I hope that my little London home will help you create special memories in London that you will cherish always.
