We had a great time at Melle's house. It's very spacious and clean, and with two people staying we each had our own floor which was nice. We would definitely come back next time!
Melle's place was fantastic. The apartment was spacious, the kitchen was great and the terrace on the roof was really nice. Melle was extremely helpful with any requests and provided recommendations as well as passes for galleries. Highly recommended.
Although we did not get a chance to meet Melle we felt we got to know him a little by staying at his spacious and beautiful apartment. We were met by his friend who provided us keys and the very helpful information packet including museum passes. Since our focus for visiting Amsterdam is art the passes were a nice perk and we were glad to stay in a place with carefully selected artwork, furnishings, etc. We also highly recommend the Italian restaurant Melle suggested which provided us a lovely dinner our last night. We will look to see if Melle's is available when we visit Amsterdam again.
Melle's house is an extraordinary space of art and (very comfortable) life in the heart of Amsterdam. In his house there's anything you could want and the value of furniture, paintings, accessories (almost nothing is branded Ikea) makes the stay a kind of "return to home."
Melle, finally, has the taste of hospitality and in his pantry you can found delicatessen from every corner of the world, plus superb wines. Highly recommended. Of course!
Our family of four spent six days in Melle's wonderful apartment. Melle was friendly, helpful, reliable and generous. We enjoyed the busy days in Amsterdam and the calm retreat of his home in the evenings. If you are looking for a place with a good location, a great place to cook and relax to a fantastic music collection, a stylish-arty surroundings and a good host, then contact Melle and enjoy Amsterdam as we did.
The best host in town! Melle's apartment is so comfortable that we spent more time at home than outside, listening music from his collection (who else has Murcof) and enjoying a drink :) Thank you!
Melle was great. He met us at the apartment (which is wonderful), showed us around and even left some museum passes (that allowed us to step to the front of a few very long lines!). The apartment was in very good condition, is in a great part of town and fit our needs perfectly. I would highly recommend Melle and his apartment to anyone coming to Amsterdam!!
We spent a long weekend at Melle's apartment and had a wonderful time!
Melle's apartment is very easy to reach from Amsterdam Centraal, and although it is not far from crowed Leidseplein it was very quiet at night. The area around is full of nice cafès and restaurants, museums are close by and everything can be reached by foot or bike. Melle has created a comfy, artsy and very special place and was a very caring, prompt and flexible host. Thank you very much!
Melle is kind and very friendly. Great level of communication and easy relation. Many thanks for the stay in the heart of the historical centre.
Bonne communication - voyageurs à ré-accueillir
It was very nice to host Melle and his friend. Highly recommended.
Thank you. Thanks for hosting us. We had a good time in Reykjavik and after that in the south
Melle and his wife are very nice people.

I was very happy to have Melle stay in our studio.
I would recommend him to anyone concidering him as a guest!
I was delighted to welcome Miss in my house for a vacation , it is very nice and in addition he speaks French which facilitated communication ( because my English is not so good) .
Dear Olivier, you used pobably a translator, my name is Melle and thats Miss with a translator. I loved staying in your Riad
Melle and Lisette are very nice people, left our home very clean and were friendly and easy to communicate with, we would gladly host them again.
As my friend I travelled, for a couple of years now, a lot with Melle. He is an interesting man who is curious about other people in different cultures. Citytrips are his favourite.
I would recommend him as a guest in your house because he is relaxed, reliable and self-reliant.
His house is a delight to stay in because of the location, the space, the kitchen, the bathtub, .... Delicious! It's cosy but also clean and equipped with all comforts.
Melle is one of the best hosts the city of Amsterdam has to offer. As one of the main influencers of Amsterdam's cultural infrastructure Melle knows and loves the city and the city knows and loves him back. He is very reliable and his house is a beautiful classic Amsterdam home combining tradition, luxury and contemporary art. The location could not be better, 5 minutes walking distance from bubbling Leidseplein and also 5 minutes from the cultural hub of the Museumplein, in a sweet little neighbourhood called 'Old West', filled with little local bars and shops. Go and stay if you can!
Melle knows his ways around, in city's, on the great waters and maybe also in the mountains, but I am not so sure about that last one. I know him at least as a cosmopolitan traveller who enjoys theatre, arts, food, party's and nice architecture, amongst other things. In our beloved city Amsterdam he is responsable for the programs in the Municipal Theatre. I have been working there with much pleasure, but that was long before Melle entered and transformed the place in a wonderfull mix of the old and the new. After one week in your apartment he probably knows to tell you about the most up to date and newest hotspts and hip events in town.
