Welcome to Dangar Island; it sits on the Hawkesbury River, just one hour north of Sydney.

we had a wonderful time staying on Dangar Island - Nina's house is nestled amongst trees and wonderfully comfortable and clean. Nina is the perfect host offering us cold beers and nuts as we arrived and keeping us company as we watched the sun go down - we will recommend it to all our friends!

Stayed for a weekend break with Nina and had a most relaxing time - lovely host, lovely house.
And Dangar Island is the land (actually island) that time forgot.
Nina has a very interesting life story and outlook once you get her talking or if you prefer just to do your own thing, that's fine too :)

We stayed at Nina's place for one night over a long weekend and it was great. She was lovely and welcoming, offering a cold beer when we arrived on a very hot day.
A note for everyone not familiar with the island - bring food and alcohol because the club closes at 4pm on Sundays and is open a little later on Saturdays, but everything shuts - early. Thankfully for us, the manager of the club is open to takeaways and even invited us back to his house to watch the NRL grand final. Everyone on the island is so friendly and we will definitely be back.
Perfect stay! Easy booking, all my numerous and annoying questions were answered kindly, and we felt like we were at a friend's house.
We spent 4 enchanting days & nights at Nina's Place on Dangar Island. What a wonderful & unique place to stay. Nina is an attentive host, full of stories but happy to leave your to own devises too if that's what you prefer. The house is beautiful, wooden floors throughout, open plan kitchen & living room, with comfortable bedrooms. But it's the deck where we spent most of our time. It's massive! & you're up in the canopy too, surrounded by trees & birds. Kookaburra's & parrots of all kinds came to visit regularly. The sounds of the forrest are all around, a really lovely experience to wake up to. Dangar itself is a delight, accessed hourly by ferry, there's a real sense of community there. We had a great stay! The perfect retreat for a few days R&R.
My friend janet and I had a wonderful time at ninas place. She was very warm and opened her home to us like she had known us for a long time. Her hospitalityb was second to none. She knew a lot about the island and pointed out al the good things nit to be missed. The serenity was to be awed. A great weekend getaway from Sydneyy and a place I would recommend. Thank you Pete for arranging the stay at ninas place.
I had a lovely stay at Nina's house. It is such a rare opportunity to stay on a special island, so it is well worth taking up the chance. Nina is a great host who gives you space if you want space, or happy for a chat if you want company. I would recommend it. As a single traveler it was a great option.
We had a perfect getaway from the city to Nina's place over the Australia Day long weekend. Arrangements with Pete were quickly and efficiently made, and upon arrival Pete and his four year old daughter Edie were waiting for us at the ferry wharf. Pete helped us with our bags on the short walk to Nina's beautiful house. Nina is very warm and helpful, has travelled the world, and will make sure you get most out of your stay on the beautiful Dangar Island. As Australia Day was very hot we enjoyed cold drinks on the veranda, while the next day was rainy we actually loved to hang out and relax with our books. We also played some games with Edie, which was good fun! At night we had a great time talking to Nina, Pete and his wife Charlotte and a local neighbour who's lived on the island for 38 years! We'd love to go back some time, highly recommended!
