Greetings! My husband (Christian Hansel) and I both thrive on travel. Just after food, water, and shelter, travel is a necessity to feed our souls. We have used AirBnB on several occasions, and we love the feel of being in a real neighborhood---where we can play 'house' for a few days in a new environment.
Christian is originally from Germany, so we make annual trips to Europe to see family and to explore. Most recently, we were in Turkey. We have a large world map on our wall covered with pins --- noting places where we've been and where we still aim to go.
Professionally, we are both involved in academia. Christian is a neurobiologist at The University of Chicago, while I teach business communications classes at DePaul University and Columbia College. I am also a business development consultant to the AEC (architecture/engineering/construction) industry. You are welcome to do an internet search on either of us (we are super easy to locate!)
Other hobbies: road biking, hiking, salsa dancing, travel photography. Oh, and we both adore our pets (one dog, and one cat-that-acts-like-a-dog).
All in all, we are honest, highly respectful, and appreciative of the places where we stay. We expect the same in return from our hosts.
Sidenote...In 2015 (May 29 through August 22) we hope to be hosts ourselves. We are looking for a one-time rental during that time period.
