Sam is wonderful and ensured everything went well in relation to moving in and during the entirety of my stay. The place itself is wonderful and I enjoyed my stay in Sydney. It's close enough to the train station, bus stops and shops which is ideal for anyone who wants to be close to the city but still far away enough to enjoy the tranquility of the surrounding areas. If your considering staying somewhere, Sam's place is the best place. Thank you Sam.
Nice host! nice place!
I was in Sydney for a week and needed to stay somewhere near the city, with wifi and a table so I could work. I chose Sam's place because of the location and these other considerations.
The good: the apartment is in a very central location, with easy access to train and bus to go anywhere you need to. The park across the road and the water is also an added bonus.
The wifi was reliable and no issues there. The bed was comfortable. Sam's mother was very sweet meeting me to give me the key after a late flight and offered to take me to the airport as I left (a friend was already taking me, but a nice offer). All of the appliances were in working order and clean sheets and towels.
The bad: this apartment is on a very busy main road. Don't stay here if you need quiet to sleep. I didn't find it an issue, but others might.
The shower dripped continuously. I had to close the bathroom door and the bedroom door so I didn't hear it. Turning the taps off more strongly did not help at all.
While the tiled floors were clearly washed right before I arrived (I could smell the cleaner), and the carpet appeared to be also freshly vacuumed, it had clearly been quite some time since there was a thorough clean of the apartment. There was dust in a lot of places (windowsills, shelves, etc) and some marks and grime on walls, the washingmachine, etc. I'm not a neat freak and understand that staying with airbnb you stay in people's homes, but, everywhere I have stayed on airbnb has been neat, clean and well maintained until now.
The small lamp in the bedroom also appeared not to work.
I could have contacted Sam to ask for some of these issues to be rectified, but a) I knew he was overseas, and b) his mother had already told me there wasn't another key, so, I would have had to facilitated any entry to the apartment, and I had a very busy schedule while I was there.
The ugly: the apartment has bugs - it mainly seemed to be cockroaches, small ones, but still. Bugs. I cleaned the kitchen thoroughly and sprayed multiple times, and still, bugs.
It was an amazing stay at the luxury and space apartment!. Sam was a fantastic host, easy to chat with and was happy to help in any way. The property is immaculate and the apartment is modern, fully furnished, clean and complete privacy. I was so happy to have such a cool place to stay during my visit to Sydney. The location is great close to king cross and the Edgecliff train station. If I come back to Sydney one day we will definitely stay at this place again. Thank you Sam!
Love this very new york style place, great furniture, right in the city and Sam is the best host!
Fab apartment, perfect location, close to the city and the beach.
Very accomodating host, I booked the apartment last minute but Sam was able to arrange a meeting to pick up the keys around both of our schedules.
Would definitely recommend this to a friend.
They were nice guests, polite and clean. The communication was perfect since our first messages. The apartment was in excellent condition when they left.
