Our stay in Valentina's apartment has been wonderful. I can't think of a better place to have lived here. The location is fantastic, right next to the Tiber River for scenic views, walks, and picnics along the water. The bustling areas of Trastevere are a 5 minute walk away and the actual block our house is situated on is so picturesque. The house itself is gorgeous, cozy, well-stocked, and airy. Everything about this place makes me never want to leave. When we first arrived, we were greeted by Roberto, Valentina's father, who gave us delicious chocolate cookies and explained the apartment very thoroughly. Since then, he has been so helpful and accommodating. We couldn't be happier with our long stay in Trastevere, in a gorgeous house in a gorgeous neighborhood. Make sure to get out and explore the restaurants nearby (of which there are tons) and get lost a bit. You won't be disappointed. Any tourist destination is close enough to walk to but Valentina's apartment is tucked away in a more residential block, giving you the chance to get away from the bustle and bask in a true local Roman's experience. Grazie mille!
The apartment is located on a lovely authentic roman piazza, surrounded by beautiful buildings and nice restaurants.
It is perfect for 4 people, we were there with two adults and two young adolescents.
Everything you want to see in Rome is on a walking distance if you don't mind walks.
Interior is basic but fine; all you need for a couple of days. Only small downside is that the walls are not noise-proof, so when the apartment next door is rented out you can literally follow conversations.
And not very welcoming (but mentioned on the website) was that due to delay of our flight of 4 hours we had to pay an extra 20 euro immediately after entering the apartment.
All in one; we would again consider this for our next stay!
Valentina's sister was waiting for me. She hurried me through the basics like she had somewhere else to be, although I got there 20 minutes earlier than I'd said I would. In her defense, she did try to be patient with me when I asked idiotic questions like 'where's the closest grocery store?' As for the place itself, I do have some things to say about it. First off, there was a ubiquitous lack of soap. No dishwashing liquid in the kitchen, no shampoo in the shower, and no laundry detergent or fabric softener around the washer. I had to a) figure out where the nearest supermarket is – which is not near at all –, and b) buy all those things, then c) carry them back home – again, a long walk from home and this time with giant bottles of liquids in your hands. There was, however, an almost-out bottle of liquid soap on the bathroom sink, which was a letdown because were it not for that, the apartment would have been completely soap-free – I would have appreciated the no-soap-anywhere consistency. Plus, the kitchen cabinet stunk of something terrifying, the hot water was as fickle as the weather – giving out at random moments or simply not running at all –, and there was nowhere to dry the washed clothes – I had to buy PVC-coated wires and install impromptu laundry lines on the mezzanine railings myself. Next off, wifi only worked within six-feet radius of the front door; I had to move the dining table toward it to get my laptop to work, and Buzzfeed in bed and cooking to the radio was literally out the door. Finally, the walls. You would think mankind invented walls to stop natural predators from invading its place of rest and preying on it, and you would be right – just right. Those walls do nothing more. I could hear drunks talking and shouting on the street outside – especially on weekend nights –, I could hear customers dragging chairs around eating and drinking and generally having fun unlike me in the semi-basement pizzeria underneath, and most of all, I could hear my twenty-something American-English speaking female neighbors have such profound and thought-provoking conversations with each other about love, traveling, relationships, friends they hate, soul-searching, shoes, boys they like, family troubles, food they want to eat, and did I mention love? For people who talk that much about traveling, they did surprising little of it, and I had to be subjected to that auditory torture for a whole month. I wanted to do a con/pro review but I'm veering dangerously close to the 500-word limit and honestly I can't even think of that many good things to say, so I'll just cut it off here. There definitely are some virtues to this apartment as many other reviewers will tell you. But for me, they were barely there. Like my sanity after my stay. Like the stars I'm giving for this...
Très bonne adresse, appartement un peu petit pour 5 personnes
Pas de matériel (exemple casseroles) pour cuisiner pour 5 personnes.
Quartier très animé, musique le soir.
A fantastic location and lovely apartment. Very clean and tidy, nicely decorated and comfortable with lovely medieval character. Valentina's husband was on time to let us in and explain everything. Beautiful restaurants right outside but quiet spot just across the river from Rome's ancient sites. We were especially lucky as no one was coming in the next day and we were given the apartment until we had to go to the airport at 7pm. We had 30 hours of flights ahead so it was hugely appreciated. Thank you Valentina!
We stayed one night in this beautiful location with short distances to the colosseum, forum romanum and other "must haves" of Rom. Our 3 girls would love to come back...
The place was very nice and very close to the bus stop and restaurants. We walked about 5 min to the market and stopped at cafe /bakery for breakfast. We felt safe to walk around till late at night with the kids and taxi drivers were very nice and helpful.
Thanks for your positive feedback
Nice to host you again
Grazie per la recensione positiva
Lieti di ospitarvi nuovamente tra noi !!!
This apartment was lovely! Everything was clean and perfect! There was only a small confusion about payment, but both Valentina and AirBnB were very helpful in getting the situation resolved! I would absolutely stay here again! Thanks Valentina and Roberto!
Nice to host you again !!!
Beautiful functional cosy apartments right in the heart of Rome
Hi, this is a very good place to stay in Rome. in the middle of historical centre, in Trastevere, in piazza dei mercanti, a square so nice that look like a postcard!
You can have all the facilities of an home. Liburdi's family help you to know the best place to eat, to visit and to go shopping. Ask them! Above all the apartment are very nice (you can see in the photos), a good price.
