I grew up on the east coast of the U.S. and lived in New York City for a couple of years prior to driving across country to San Francisco. This incredible city has been my home for over 16 years now. While I love it, I'm always anxious to hop on a plane and land in a new destination. And I've got a long list of places I want to visit!
My parents instilled a love of travel in me early (basically at birth) so I consider it another one of life's essentials. I've traveled a fair amount in Europe and have spent lots of time in England. There's just something so amazing about exploring new places, discovering something unknown, meeting and learning about people from different cultures, and tasting (oh my!) all the delectable types of food the world has to offer.
Being a graphic designer, I'm particularly drawn towards anything creative: art, architecture, film (indie and foreign are my favorites), and all types of design from print to product to interior. That creative passion, and the fact that we're spoiled in San Francisco, naturally evolved into a love of local, inventive cuisine and supporting independent, small businesses. To me, that just makes living and traveling a much more authentic experience.
When it comes to style of traveling, I guess it's a combo of planning and spontaneity. Because there is always limited time and lots to see, I like to embark with a general plan. But being a go-with-the-flow kind of guy, random adventures, wandering down less traveled roads, chatting up locals for recommendations are all part of the fun and allure of globetrotting.
Je suis quelque peu compétent en français.
Cheers and happy travels!
