We booked Francesca's apartment 3 days before arrival and everything was prepared perfectly and in time. We had a bit problem with finding it, but her daughter Eleonora helped us via phone and even met us by car.
Apartment is exactly as it's showed on photos, very cosy, felt like home. Eleonora showed it, and even prepared coffe and cakes for the next morning, she was really kind to us.
Location is quite, but the same time not far away from center (15 min to Piazza del Popolo).
Summarizing our trip, it was great and if you're going to Rome, I would highly reccomend this apartment!
The apartment was very well furnished, comfortable and clean. It was nice to find coffee, tea, cookies and other usefull things in the apartment.
Francesca and her daughter Martina responded our e-mails and messages always very quickly. They are very nice people!
Everything was perfect! Next time we go to Rome we would like to stay here again. We can highly recommend this apartment.
Lovely stay at this apartment! As our flight was early and we reached at around 9.45am, Francesca very kindly let us check in earlier as there was no prior reservation before us so there was no need to clean up.
The moment we arrive, her daughter, Eleonora was very there to pass us the keys and she was very friendly. She gave us directions and tips on where to go as well. Whatever questions we have she could help us, so that's a plus point! Also, we needed a taxi on the last day for us to go to Roma Termini, in which Eleonora kindly helped us book.
The apartment is lovely except that the hot water in the bathroom goes cold after a while but it just takes a little effort to experiment and we knew how to work around it.
The tram number 2 is about 15 minutes walk so it depends on whether you are someone who likes to walk or not. From the tram, it takes about 4 stops to reach Piazzale Flaminio where Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon are walkable. It's alot of walking but my boyfriend and I both love to walk, so it's fine with us. It's just that at the end of the day after much walking, we still have to walk 15 minutes back to the apartment, in which we will take a slow walk and enjoy the weather. It's autumn so it was rather cooling.
Overall, we love the stay and we highly recommend it!
We stayed at the apartment from the 12th of OCT 'till the 16th.
Francesca's daughter waited for us in the apartment, showed us everything and explained to us everything we needed to know and the apartment and the location around.
The apartment is surly nice, IKEA apartment. very modern, clean and comfortable.
The apartment has everything you need to make your own food (Breakfast, lunch, Dinner) although we didn't use that option is was there.
Francesca also have very useful information in the apartment from local food order, Taxi company phone number to Tourists locations brochures.
Was very useful to us! :)
There's a washing machine and an Iron.
Also very helpful and useful... we used both.
We weren't so lucky with the hot water stream.
The stream was weak, but weren't so bad, We think the low stream is Roma problem and not specific apartment problem.
Free and full Signal WiFi which is great and important.
The WiFi is limited for 500MB per day, which isn't bad but watch some streaming movies and YouTube and you'll find yourself with very slow internet.
But after the first day we learned how to use it smartly.
The location of the apartment is very good.
20 min walk from "Piazza Del Popolo" which is the heart of the center.
The building is also very nice, clean and nice neighbors.
To summarize, We had a very good time.
Francesca and her Daughter were very nice and helpful.
We sure recommend the apartment!
Appartamento semplicemente fantastico! Comodo, centrale e molto piacevole! Le figlie della proprietaria sono adorabili e disponibili. Consigliato sicuramente!
This host family is marvellous! In advance: all questions regarding the apartment were answered within very few time. Arrival: warm welcome by Francescas daughter Martina.
Recommendations of restaurants and shops in the area were very helpful to get aquainted. Then we had a wonderful stay in this spacious, top equipped apartment. We liked the 8th floor, the view and the elevator. Flaminio is a really quiet residential area, althouth good to reach by public transportation.
We felt like „Romans“, buying in the Alimentari or in the market hall next door every day. Our favorite: "Pasta per te" quite round the corner with freshest pasta you can get.
In the evening it was wonderful coming into our cosy home, exhausted but happy after a great day with all this arts and culture of Rome.
The morning we sorrowly had to leave Francescas daughter Eleonora even took care of our taxi to he airport. We would like to come back. Thanks Francesca! We wish you many guests enjoying „A Casa di Nonna“ like we did.
My family and I had a truly unforgettable stay in Rome. We were thrilled with Francesca's apartment. It was bright, spacious and meticulously clean. Four adults can fill a space quickly, but we found there was ample room so when we went back to the apartment in the evening, it was actually a pleasure to stay home an relax. The apartment was very convenient to the tram and metro so if we wanted to go home for a rest before our next adventure traveling was not a problem. We were met at the apartment and given a very warm welcome. Most definitely worth a return visit. Thank you Francesca and family!
This is a very pleasant apartment in a residential area outside of the center. The apartment is full equipped including the kitchen, should you want to cook your own meals, and was sparkling clean when we arrived. Francesca and her daughters were very accommodating and helpful, and communications were excellent. The neighborhood has plenty of places to get fresh produce if you want to, and transportation to the center is by tram - the station is just a few minutes away and the ride to Piazza Del Popolo is 10-15 minutes. All in all an excellent experience, in particular if you want to experience some local life and not just stay at a hotel in the center. We had a very enjoyable stay and gladly recommend this place.
A few tidbits of advice:
- make sure you know how to get from the airport to the apartment - it is not in the center. We found the best way was by shuttle service, which cost just a euro more than the train to Stazione Termini, and brought us door to door.
- internet is fine but limited to 500MB daily - make sure your smart phones don't automatically start uploading all the pictures you took during the day as you will hit the quota limit and the connection will be throttled to practically nothing.
- hot water was a bit finicky - owners said it was to be fixed, but if you run in to any problems don't hesitate to call them.
Francesca's apartment is very spacious and clean, and there is plenty of closet space and empty drawers for guests, giving us plenty of room to enjoy breakfast and relax after a day of touring without feeling like we were surrounded by suitcases and clothes. Francesca, her daughter, and her cleaning person were all very responsive to our needs. The kitchen had coffee and eggs waiting for us. Half a block away is a wonderful deli with a wide selection of cured meats, cheeses, fresh baked bread, home made pesto and grilled vegetables and fresh fruit. They close at 5PM, so stock up for the next day early. We had some trouble with the shower (getting hot water) but learned that by turning on the bathroom sink hot water tap and letting it run while showering, the shower would stay hot. I'm sure Francesca will let everyone know when her plumber has engineered a better solution.
This is a great apartment! Roomy and modern, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, bright and sunny with a great view from the balcony and roll down blinds to block the morning sun. It really was the little things that I appreciated the most....details outlining the specifics of the apartment, travel books and pamphlets on the sights in Rome, restaurants, shopping etc., soap, shampoo, hairdryer and cookies, biscuits, sugar, tea and Italian coffee left for us to enjoy!
Although I did not meet Francesca personally both of her daughters, Martina and Eleonora took care of all our needs. When we arrived, Eleonora was there to greet us and show us the apartment. A few hours later Martina showed up with American coffee for us! So nice!
The morning of check out Eleonora was there to meet us and called us a taxi to the airport...much appreciated.
I highly recommend this apartment. Our stay in Rome was effortless due to the attentiveness of the owner and her family!
Grazie Francesca, Martina and Eleonora!
