After a little confusion with the address at the beginning, everything has been fantastic. We have enjoyed the apartment and taken profit of its location, equipment and incredible size to have a wonderful family's vacation. Great, just great!
Arnar was a great host and we loved our time at his apartment. The apartment was exactly as described and exactly as you can see on the web.
Arnar helped us a lot in our wedding arrangements and we could not have been more happy there as we were :)
While we never met Arnar in person, he was very responsive and made himself available for any questions or issues. We did meet his girlfriend Thora at the apartment who was very friendly and showed us around the place. They even left a helpful list of recommended restaurants and other places to try around town which led us to some great places.
The apartment itself was very clean and spacious with a comfy bed. It's also in walking distance to pretty much anything worth walking to in the city. Absolutely no regrets staying here!
This apartment is cozy and spacious for me and my mum to stay. The host almost prepares everything, such as wifi towel hair-dyer kitchenware... not brand new but clean and useful. The location is perfect. Close to the central (the Great Church), and there is a pick-up point by both Reykjavik Exursions and Gray Line just around the cornor ( a few senconds to walk), so it's super convenient for tourists who don't have a car and need to paricipate in the day tours offered by these travel agencies. The only thing I'd encourage the host to improve is to have one more layer of curtain as the blinds in the bedroom can not 100 per cent shelter from the midnight sunlights.
Great experience! The flat is just as you see it in the pics, or even better. Very charming and centrally located. Very clean and fully equipped.
Never met Arnar but, in any case, he was an excellent host. Always ready to give good advice about the city and the country. He answered questions very fast!
We loved staying in Arnar's delightful apartment! It was super close to everything you could need while staying in Reykjavik - restaurants, cafés, ice cream shops, grocery stores and shopping. We truly enjoyed getting to come back to this home base every evening after a long day of site seeing.
Arnar was super easy to get in touch with and went out of his way to accommodate our super early arrival in town and even met us at the apartment with the key and to show us around. We appreciated that. And the apartment really is brilliant. It's a perfect space for two people. The TV and available movies were a huge plus. The kitchen is also quite large and well outfitted so we were able to cook in several nights which was nice.
My only suggestion to those visiting is that it is quite bright in the apartment in the summer with the 24 hour sun so I would recommend a mask to sleep with. Also the walls are pretty thin so if you're a light sleeper, you might bring some ear plugs.
Should we return to Reykjavik we know where we will be staying! Thanks again Arnar :)
Great stay in Arnar's apartment. This place is very pleasant to live. It's placed in the center of Reykjavik , next to the church and a few minutes from shops and grocery stores. Everything is close.
Arnar is very reactive to answer questions and messages. He was very accomodating with chek in and out hours.
Arnar was not in Iceland when we arrived. So, this is Thora , his girlfriend, who met us . Thora, thank you for the warm welcome and advice ( including relaxing time at the pool before dinner , very nice :) )
We had a fantastic week staying at Arnar's place in downtown Reykjavik. The apartment is the perfect size for a couple, one or two more people could comfortably sleep in the living room as well. We saved some money by keeping groceries at the place for breakfast and even cooked a meal one night (I would highly recommend getting some lamb and doing the same)! Location wise it is pretty unbeatable - a few short blocks away from one of the main shopping streets and very close to the big church, making it pretty easy to locate (the street layout in Reykjavik takes a bit to familiarize yourself with, so being close to the church was especially helpful the first few nights). Arnar was very accommodating, helping us get settled our first day and giving us some great advice on things to do. I would definitely recommend this apartment to any of my friends planning a trip to Iceland.
We had instructions about things needed to know and got in touch with him when there were some problems with the water.
The location of this flat could not have been better and communication with Arnar could not have been easier. A great place to stay for our time in Reykjavik!
Only slight problem we found was that the bath didn't work (the plug, nor the overflow) but the shower worked great, so all was ok.
We would stay here again.
Thora is an ideal guest. She is friendly and very nice, fun to talk with, I recommend her warmly.
Arnar was a great guest and took very good care of our apartment. I can strongly recomend him
