I'm a new yorker born and bred. am in love with NYC as my home, but love to travel to far off places as much as i can. work in advertising as a producer and am an avid snowboarder.
Debs fun and cute, great big apt with a great big bed. Big TV, CABLE. Did I say she cute and her husband is tall. I wish I was there son. SO I could move in!
Deb and Nate's place is AMAZING and beautiful. The stay was very comfortable despite having 6 people in a one bedroom apartment. Much roomier than other apartments we've seen in the city. Everything we needed was provided. It was really like living as a local in the Lower East Side. We had no need to go out of our way to buy any necessities. It was a great stay. Meeting Boris the bulldog at the end everything was a fun bonus!
The apartment building is LITERALLY surrounded with delis, convenience stores, restaurants, bars, you name it. Everything you need is right around the corner. The only downside is the subway is quite a walk away, but once we walked it a couple times, there is so much to see and so many places to stop at, you don't even realize how long you've walked until the apartment appears in front of you!
We met Deb and Nate at the end of the trip and they are a kind and eclectic couple. I would definitely keep in touch with them, and stay at their place again if only we could!
Amazing stay! The apartment is spacious and large which being in Manhattan you wouldn't expect, and the additional bonus of two bathrooms makes getting ready much quicker if there are two of you. It feels like a real NYC apartment. The location is amazing, walkable to many parts of the city, lots of taxis to be found on Ave C and only a $35 cab ride to La Guardia. Deb and Nate are lovely people and gave us a quick tour of the local eateries and of their apartment. Another awesome feature is their TV which has Pandora and Netflix hooked up. They left the apartment clean and tidy for us too :)
Local tips: ABC Beer Compaany (Awesome craft beer selection and chilled out bar), Ninth St Espresso (The BEST latte I've had in years), and Edit and The Wolf (Austrian comfort food and great brunch option.
Deb was easy to reach and quick to respond as we communicated in the run up to the stay and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Top marks!
Deb's apartment is fantastic and she is a great host. The apartment is a great size and is very comfortable. Deb provided many great suggestions for places to eat nearby and was very easy to deal with. The apartment is located in a cool part of town that makes you feel like you are living the life of a local New Yorker. Highly recommended.
We stayed at Deb's place in February 2012 and were very happy with it. We like East Village and this was a prime spot just 1,5 blocks away from the park. There are many nice restaurants and bars around so plenty to do in the evenings. We had our 1,5-year-old with us, and those of us who travel with kids know how important it is to be able to feel at home. In that way Deb's place was perfect! The space was big enough for us to feel we were not on top of each other. It was well set up and had pretty much everything. We only brought in a travel cot and we were all set. We would definitely recommend Deb's apartment!
We had amazing time in NY and Deb's place is great. We really liked the location, close to everything and Deb was wonderful, she was really quick to respond and answered all our questions. She made our stay much easier! Next time we go to NY we will definitely come back!
Deb's place is in a great spot if you want to experience the cool, non-touristy side of New York. I'm a neighbor, so I can say that. The apt is close to Union Square, with a million train lines.
Deb's a great friend. I've known her for six years and would entrust her with anything.
Deb's apartment is in one of the best possible locations in all of New York. Right on the edge of the East Village, one of New York's most iconic neighborhoods. It's also within walking distance to the Lower East Side, East River Park, Union Square, Nolita, the West Village and Gramercy Park, among other great places to visit. Deb's apartment is an incredibly clean, large, open layout, which makes hanging out fun and easy. There are two bathrooms which make getting ready easy. The living room and bedroom face away from the street, so it's quiet at night. A pull-out couch and queen size air mattress make it easy to accomodate extra guests. The open, full kitchen is great for cooking or preparing drinks.
This apartment is in the most ridiculously awesome spot for nightlife in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is close to the subway and Path trains to commuter rail. On the same block as a trendy restaurant, pet store, bakery, bar and beauty supply shop!
