I'm a pretty laid back guy who likes to spend time outdoors so if you'd like to stay at my place then i'll just go camping - it works out for everyone! :)

Perfect and quiet location ! Close to South Congress and all his conveniences ( Bus Stop, HEB, Pharmacy ... ) ! I stayed a month in the Treehouse and Garret was a great host ! It was clean and this place is peaceful !! I highly recommend for a stay in Austin . Thanks Garret !!
Simple place, with a kitchenette. Right off the bus stop, so getting to the heart of downtown is a breeze. Great for SXSW.
Garret was a very welcoming and generous host! His home was very comfortable and perfect for what we needed. The location was also great for us, as we were able to hop on the bus to get to S. Congress and downtown for SXSW without having to rely on expensive cabs. The porch was a great place to relax after a long day out on the town. Additionally, I was able to find a nice running spot just a couple blocks away on the St. Edwards campus.
We had a wonderful time in Garret's apartment. The location was great (close enough to everything, but also in a quiet neighborhood). The apartment has everything you would need, and the balcony was great! We wholeheartedly recommend Garret's flat and would return any time!
I just returned from a three night stay at Garret's treehouse. The place was very clean and welcoming. He even left a couple of beers in the fridge for our first night. All of Garret's recommendations for nearby food were fantastic - definitely check out the avocado margaritas at Curra's Grill.
The location was perfect and exactly what we were looking for and for a great price. The place was small yet adorable. It has everything you could need for a couple of nights in Austin. I have no complaints!
Garret was a great host. He answered all the questions I had before the stay and the check-in was easy. He also gave me a good tour of the apartment and made sure I had everything I needed. The place is set up, well, clean, and had everything I needed. There is also a decent sized patio that I took advantage of. The wifi is very fast as well.
Clean house with a chill vibe in a great location. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Garret couldn't have been a more helpful host. The porch was a great place to relax before/after going out ... and being able to borrow bikes was a terrific bonus.
We stayed in the Treehouse for three weeks and had the greatest time! Garret was so welcoming and provided us with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, from information about the neighborhood and local activities to a local wine and fresh herbs for us to enjoy. The apartment was a great clean space that had every amenity that you could need. The location, right off SoCo, was amazing - a five to ten minute walk away from a local artisan grocery store, supermarket, laundromat, pharmacy, bank, pool, and restaurants. It's a nice laid-back community conveniently located close to Austin hotspots. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a place to stay in Austin. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
So many small details that make the place comfortable & easy to live in, you can tell that Garret put a good deal of thought into this place. And the same goes for interactions with him. Knowing that I work nights as a nurse and sleep in the day time, he gave me tips he tested out for creating ambient noise to help me sleep well in the day time. I stayed for a month during a particularly cold spell in Austin and it took some time to figure out how to best use the space heaters. Closing the bedroom door w/ the heater on ~30 mins before going to bed and then turning it off ~30 mins after in the room seemed to work well, but it'll be cold when you walk out of the room in the morning. Just anticipate handling the cold for a bit as the heaters take time to get things warm.
To me, in person, the place seemed bigger than the online pictures showed. I felt quite safe in this quiet neighborhood, which is residential, with minimal through-traffic, and very close to a private university campus. The location in general is close to many things in Austin, but not so close that you're paying for it in price & loudness.
Garret was great at recommending wonderful places to walk to and was very knowledgeable about his neighborhood. The place was exactly as described and had tons of lovely character. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. As other people mentioned, the memory foam bed was SO comfortable! I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend others to stay here as well. Thank you for your hospitality Garret!
We loved having Garret stay at our place. He went the extra mile cleaning, doing dishes and laundry. He was also very easy to communicate with. Garret and his crew were great guests! We would love to have him anytime. Thanks!
Garrett, we hope you enjoyed your stay in Breckenridge and got to ski some fresh powder! Thanks again for staying with us and you're welcome back anytime!
I enjoyed having Garret and his friend stay at my home. They were respectfuL, personal and fun. They experienced plenty of fresh powder and had a few great days of sunshine.
Garret has got to be in the top five percent of hosts in Austin (an uneducated but impressive-sounding guess in which I place great confidence). His place feels like a treehouse, which is cool enough, but also, hidden away in the crawl space, is every outdoor accoutrement you could possibly want. And if you're lucky he might tell you how to get to the secret spring on Town Lake!
Garret is a old friend who has stayed with us several times over the years. He's honest, trustworthy and a good human being !
He lives in a great part of town and if we didn't already live in Austin, we would stay with him!
Now that there is a 5 star RE-VIEW ! :)
Garret's rental is akin to a tree house in the woods and yet the house is located across town lake, and right in the center of everything happening in Austin! He is responsible, respectful and truly takes care of his home and his guests. I would recommend his place to anyone coming in to town.
Garret is one of the funniest guys I know! He's an avid cyclist that fully takes advantage of all that Austin has to offer. His house is conveniently located to enjoy Austin!
Garret and I our good friends. We met through the great biking community that is in Austin. He is very accommodating and funny. He's a huge Saints fan so you know he has to have a sense of humor, right?? Any who I highly recommend him as a host and a friend.
Garret is one of our favorite people in Austin. He knows the town like the back of his hand because he truly indulges in its wonders. Garret's got a great, laid-back space at a good spot in town. If you're lucky, you'll get the chance to meet him.
