I am Irish and a graphic designer and artist. I live in New Orleans for the last few years working with a non-profit. I like to travel, draw and read.
The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Maria was a really good host. The room was clean and all was arranged even tough we came very late. On the first morning she hade fresh fruit ready for us. Nice, secure, authentic area close to streetcar. Would recomment it.
I had an amazing experience in Nola. Some of the best food, music, and overall vibe I've experienced in a long time. Maria was an amazing host and I loved the location. There are great places to go in mid city and the street cars give you access to downtown in about 25-30 mins. When I take another trip back to Nola I hope her place is available.
My wife and I were in town for a long weekend and we are very happy to have found Maria's place to stay. Maria is very pleasant to work with and we felt very comfortable staying at her place.
Very comfortable shared downstairs and our own air conditioned bedroom upstairs. We basically had the place to ourselves for most of our stay. Not that we were staying in very often as New Orleans beckons. We could have used the kitchen but we opted not to for our stay.
The neighborhood is quiet and only a block away from the Canal Street Street cars. We had a car with us and we were able to park on the next street over with no issues.
We loved our stay at Maria's! The house was beautiful and clean, and it had a lot of charm and character. We loved looking at Maria's artwork on the walls. The bedroom was very comfortable, and the neighborhood was very nice. The kitchen was also beautiful, and we felt very much at home. The streetcar is easy and convenient for getting downtown to the French Quarter or north to the cemeteries, and we were always able to find parking near her house, although we sometimes had to park on the next block.
Maria is a great host! She accommodated a very late arrival time and even left us pastries, fruit, and tea/coffee so that we didn't have to worry about breakfast the next morning. We didn't get to see her much (she was busy, and we were out in the city for most of the day) but she was always available to answer questions by text. We'd definitely recommend her place to others! We can't think of anything negative to say about it!
Maria is absolutely amazing! She welcomed us in with lots of insights about the area and places to go as well as recommendations on food, and she's a great conversationalist. Staying at Maria's in Mid- City was the place to be if you want to still be in the NOLA area, but want something down to heart and relaxing. Her place is super accessible to the street car; which was around the corner from her house. Not to mention in walking, quick bike ride from the City Park and the NOMA (New Orleans Museum of Art). She was easy to reach any time we had a question or needed a recommendation too! Also, the bed was super comfy and cozy! I hope to stay at her place again, hopefully soon!!!
Maria is a good host. She was very accommodating when our flight in was delayed by bad weather. Her house is a cool old typical New Orleans wooden house, with very high ceilings. The room is large and the bed is comfortable. We stayed for a week, and took the "make yourself at home" very literally, doing a lot of cooking in some great cast iron pots.
The neighbourhood is great, near the airport bus, a trolley stop, and a hipsterizing block of Banks Street. You can actually do a lot near the house, what with the cemeteries and City Park and restaurants and just walking around. And the Carrollton buses take you the "back way" to the Rock 'n' Bowl and Magazine Street. Maria was a good resource for advice on stuff to do.
We would definitely stay again.
Maria was an excellent host. My friend and I had never been to New Orleans before and she was very friendly, gave helpful suggestions, and made sure we were comfortable in her home. Her place is also very conveniently located and we were able to explore the city very easily and even found some cute brunch spots to check out close by. I would definitely recommend staying here!
A nice bedroom in a shotgun house in midtown. Maria is a very hospitable and accommodating host. Only one block to the tram line and a few block walk to stores, restaurants, and city park. 20-30 min to the quarter on the tram.
Maria was a great host. Her location in Mid-City is perfect for exploring New Orleans. It is very close to the streetcar line on Canal st which we used throughout our trip to get around. We also had a rental car and never had a problem finding parking near her place. Maria has a beautiful apartment with interesting architecture and her own artwork decorating the bedroom. The bathroom and bedroom were clean, comfortable and spacious. Maria was very welcoming, fun to talk to, and had great suggestions for the area. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back!
We really enjoyed meeting and hosting Maria and Marc! You were wonderful guests - friendly, respectful, clean and quiet. You seemed to really enjoy your time on the Cape. Please come back and stay with us anytime!
Maria y su novio eran encantadores, era maravilloso conversar con ellos. Educados, agradables y estupendos. Recomendables 100%
Positive experience, without any doubt. Dublin is already a place known to Maria and this is the reason why we did not spend too much time together as she obviously was spending time with her friends. The morning also has gone fast, Maria and her boyfriend Marc left right after waking up.
I would definitely host them again and if possible, will ask them to host me as the impression I had was a good one.
Maria was an amazing guest! Clean and very respectful. Came home to a very clean place. She left it in the exact condition that I gave it her her in. She is welcome back anytime! Great guest! Great guest!!!
