We loved our stay at Maria's! The house was beautiful and clean, and it had a lot of charm and character. We loved looking at Maria's artwork on the walls. The bedroom was very comfortable, and the neighborhood was very nice. The kitchen was also beautiful, and we felt very much at home. The streetcar is easy and convenient for getting downtown to the French Quarter or north to the cemeteries, and we were always able to find parking near her house, although we sometimes had to park on the next block.
Maria is a great host! She accommodated a very late arrival time and even left us pastries, fruit, and tea/coffee so that we didn't have to worry about breakfast the next morning. We didn't get to see her much (she was busy, and we were out in the city for most of the day) but she was always available to answer questions by text. We'd definitely recommend her place to others! We can't think of anything negative to say about it!
Maria is absolutely amazing! She welcomed us in with lots of insights about the area and places to go as well as recommendations on food, and she's a great conversationalist. Staying at Maria's in Mid- City was the place to be if you want to still be in the NOLA area, but want something down to heart and relaxing. Her place is super accessible to the street car; which was around the corner from her house. Not to mention in walking, quick bike ride from the City Park and the NOMA (New Orleans Museum of Art). She was easy to reach any time we had a question or needed a recommendation too! Also, the bed was super comfy and cozy! I hope to stay at her place again, hopefully soon!!!
Maria is a good host. She was very accommodating when our flight in was delayed by bad weather. Her house is a cool old typical New Orleans wooden house, with very high ceilings. The room is large and the bed is comfortable. We stayed for a week, and took the "make yourself at home" very literally, doing a lot of cooking in some great cast iron pots.
The neighbourhood is great, near the airport bus, a trolley stop, and a hipsterizing block of Banks Street. You can actually do a lot near the house, what with the cemeteries and City Park and restaurants and just walking around. And the Carrollton buses take you the "back way" to the Rock 'n' Bowl and Magazine Street. Maria was a good resource for advice on stuff to do.
We would definitely stay again.
Maria was an excellent host. My friend and I had never been to New Orleans before and she was very friendly, gave helpful suggestions, and made sure we were comfortable in her home. Her place is also very conveniently located and we were able to explore the city very easily and even found some cute brunch spots to check out close by. I would definitely recommend staying here!
A nice bedroom in a shotgun house in midtown. Maria is a very hospitable and accommodating host. Only one block to the tram line and a few block walk to stores, restaurants, and city park. 20-30 min to the quarter on the tram.
Maria was a great host. Her location in Mid-City is perfect for exploring New Orleans. It is very close to the streetcar line on Canal st which we used throughout our trip to get around. We also had a rental car and never had a problem finding parking near her place. Maria has a beautiful apartment with interesting architecture and her own artwork decorating the bedroom. The bathroom and bedroom were clean, comfortable and spacious. Maria was very welcoming, fun to talk to, and had great suggestions for the area. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back!
Maria is a great host very welcoming and most helpful. She was quick to respond and to accommodate to our needs, and forthcoming in offering advice and help. The room is really spacious for two, and the house is nice and welcoming too. The neighbourhood is quite and nice and you're literally two minutes walk from the streetcar that takes you to the French Quarter. If you're in the great city of NOLA, you deserve the great hospitality of Maria.
My first ever visit to New Orleans. Maria is a perfect host. Kind, friendly, warm and incredibly helpful. She can give you anything from the main 'touristy' things to do, to getting off the tourist trail and seeing the real New Orleans. She made me feel like I was at home and it was such a relaxed atmosphere. The property itself is a lovely home in a really great little area in mid city. It's a 4 minute walk to the street car stop that takes you into the city centre in less than 20 minutes. I can't recommend Maria and her home highly enough. When I go back to New Orleans I will stay with her again for sure.
Maria was fantastic. This was our first Airbnb experience, so we were a little unsure of the particulars, but Maria was very kind, helpful, and flexible on everything. She quickly answered all our questions and was in constant contact with us through the whole process. She was quite helpful on pointing out places to go and eat in the neighborhood once we arrived and during our stay.
The place is really quiet, in a beautiful typical New Orleans neighborhood. Canal Street and the trolley is just 5 secs away from the place, which we rode all the time downtown.
The room itself is quite nice, spacious, with an A/C unit in the window and a very old style, but nice bathroom and tub. The kitchen was also nice, with a good layout and snacks and a water cooler at the ready.
The neighborhood is also a short walk from the Cemeteries and City Park as well as some great food places like Mantina's and Ruby Slipper.
We were easily less than 30 mins away from anything downtown.
Everything about our experience was great, and Maria made it even better, by her being so nice and just allowing us to enjoy our place.
If you are looking for a nice, chill, quiet place away from the noise and tourists of New Orleans this is a great place and Maria is a great host.
We stayed for three days at Maria's place and had a great time! We felt very much at home, mainly because of her hospitality. Maria is very friendly and willing to help wherever she can. She gave us some good tips about (local) things to see and eat. The location of her house is close to the streetcar that will take you directly into the French Quarter. We would definitely go back here again!
Maria was an amazing guest! Clean and very respectful. Came home to a very clean place. She left it in the exact condition that I gave it her her in. She is welcome back anytime! Great guest! Great guest!!!
