The house was bigger than expected from the description and quite lovely with a beautiful garden. I highly recommend this place for a family wanting an enjoyable stay almost in the centre of town. It takes less than 10 minutes to stroll to the centre of town.
Maya was a very conscientious host and happy to help out with our visit. House was comfortable and accessible to town. Well furnished.
Maya made us feel very welcome - both during email exchanges before we arrived and on arrival. She had also ordered in groceries for us as we were arriving late. Much appreciated.
The listing was accurate and the house was lovely - warm, with a great wood-burning stove, spacious and well equipped. If the weather had been good we could have enjoyed sitting in the garden. Only a 10-15 minutes walk to the centre of Oxford, with a bus stop nearby and a small food shop. Great that we could park nearby with an easy drive to the station, although driving/parking in much of Oxford is generally awful. We enjoyed the Head of the River pub on Folly Bridge, just 5 minutes away.
We would certainly come here again.

Staying in Maya's house in Oxford was perfect for our family. The house has everything we needed for our entertainment and comfort and it's very clean, well organised and equipped. The house is also very stylish and light-filled making it a pleasant place for anyone to be spending time, with or without kids. The location is great too for local parks and playgrounds and leisurely walks into town or along the river.
Maya was an amazing host, generous, thoughtful and very helpful with every aspect of our stay from organising groceries and babysitting to recommending local restaurants. She made us feel very welcome and special and communicated with us in a very prompt and considerate way. Thanks for everything maya!
Very beautiful house and garden in a nice and central neighborhood; very convenient for family with children. Central to Oxford and nearby big park as well. We enjoyed our stay VERY much!
This was an ideal place to stay, within 15 minutes walk of central city or there's a bus along the nearby main road. Close to everything, but in a quiet neighbourhood. Parking can be hit or miss, but never too far away from door.
House has all amenities, EXCEPT a microwave and TV, both of which we missed only for the first few days. Nice, comfy beds and plenty of fluffy towels. Loved having a garden to sit in and loved going home with a case full of clean clothes due to the washer/dryer/outdoor line. SO much better than a hotel.
Only problem was not having a power outlet near a mirror for hair drying. I had to sit on the floor to see into the mirror in the spare room. Also, we hit UK during an unusual heat wave, so could have done with more fans, but we didn't mind too much. Better than being cold and rainy. Never neded the heating system.
Owner was most helpful with all queries, even fixing hot water problem over phone from 4,000 miles away! Great service and we'd love to stay here again.
Great location and within comfortable walking distance for our conference at St. Aldate's, grocery store and excellent restaurants. House was very comfortable and spacious with a large kitchen featuring a bi-folding back door/wall opening into the back garden - important for air flow since Oxford was usually hot during our stay. Next time I go to the UK I am taking my own top sheet, since duvets were too heavy for weather we encountered! No t.v. but all important WiFi and washer/dryer were included. Maya provided good communication and very details information regarding use of the home and amenities. I would definitely book with Maya again and recommend her location to others seeking a comfortable, convenient, home location and communal space for an Oxford visit.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay and Maya was a perfect host. Six friends from the US were in Oxford to attend a wedding where many wedding guests were staying at the Oxford Spires Hotel, just across the road from Edith Road. We were perfectly comfortable and it was wonderful to entertain other friends in the house and the lovely yard. The walk into the town center was short and scenic. Thanks, Maya!
Maya was a lovely host, her house was beautiful and had everything we needed! The location was ideal, close to the city centre. Maya was very welcoming and left us an oxford guide which was very useful
Maya and her family are very gentle and kind guests who made an effort to integrate into our household, as we were sharing the premises and they all made a great effort to settle into the urban Yangon living experience. At times this is not easy and ultimately Maya and her family felt that moving into a service apartment would better meet her family's expectations and well being. We enjoyed their company and it was particularly nice having the kids around the house and garden.
