Great location! Great guy! Great view. Just awesome! Thanks so much!
Elvio was a wonderful host. He even picked me up at the train station, which was very kind.
It was nice to have access to a small kitchen for tea or coffee in the morning as well as a refrigerator to keep cold water bottles and food items when needed. The home/room was as pictured and it was very clean. And it was nice to come home to a cool bedroom at the end of a hot and humid day of sightseeing in Rome. Thank you Elvio! I had a great stay in Rome!
The host was very welcoming and accommodating! The neighborhood was nice and the description was accurate. I can't say enough about Elvio! He was very kind and helpful and made our first experince with airbnb awesome. I would recommend him to anyone staying in Rome. He goes beyond what he has to do and is a perfect host. Thanks so much!
My first airbnb and I couldn't be happier.
Elvio is a natural host...you are very welcome, but at the same time the space is completely yours. I mentioned that I had lost my travel toothbrush in transit, and next thing I know Elvio had grabbed one for me from the local store! Genuinely interested in people/travel and equally interesting, but not in the least intrusive, Elvio quickly felt like an old friend.
Breakfast is very well stocked and re-stocked every single day...I could have easily survived on that food alone, not exaggerating.
The apartment is lovely, nicer even than the pictures. The neighbourhood is great...a stone's throw from St. Peter's but just far enough to avoid feeling crowded and overcharged...a real Roman neighbourhood.
My first day I thought 'perfect except too bright'...I'm not a good sleeper...and then I discovered the mechanical blinds I had somehow missed, and was 100% happy.
The balcony in the room makes you feel like a local, just leaning out to enjoy the sun, and the view from the kitchen or dining room is exactly as seen in the photo.
The bedroom is a big room...again, bigger than it seemed in the pictures...with lots of space and room for all your clothes, a large wrought iron bed, and your own sofa. There's even a solid old safe for your valuables. Wifi is by far the best I've had in Italy, and the AC was a welcome relief after days out in the heat.
I'd like to offer some kind of criticism to sound more balanced, but I honestly can't think of anything I'd change. I will return, and if you've read this far you'll guess my advice to any prospective visitors: feel very at ease with this choice, unless it's for the future dates I want.
Elvio, very much appreciated. You've gained a friend, and I've gained a new home in Rome. And airbnb has gained an impressed new client.
Elvio was really kind and informing, even though we have never met face to face, he still managed to make me feel welcome. The house is located very close to Vatican and is at walking distance to almost all attractions in the center. The room is as seen in the pictures, it's cozy. The breakfast is a standard Italian breakfast and the kitchen is available and equipped to make coffee etc.
Elvio was very nice and welcoming. He was helpful in identifying the tourist attractions for me. The room was exactly how it is described. The B&B is located close to the Vatican you can walk to it. Plenty of restaurants on the same street as the B&B. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever back in Rome.
The location is perfect, nice and peaceful part of Roma, walkable distance from the Vatican. The Red room is large and has a private bathroom outside the room which is kept clean and is adequate. We found everything as per the pictures (as promised). There is also a kitchenette with enough cutlery to make a small meal.Elvio was there to greet us on the first day, he is polite and friendly. He has maps and other tourist material at hand for help, he showed us the sights on the map and gave us directions how to get there. Bus no 64 is the life line if staying this part of Roma, goes to all the must see places and ends at Termini, with good frequency. Transportation was hence easy. Also, the street downstairs has lots of eating options for all budgets. Overall a great experience (6 nights) and would recommend to everyone.
Located in a residential area yet not far from touristic attractions one can enjoy a quiet stay in a usually crowded and loud city as well as get everywhere very fast. The apartment is on the 6th floor of a building located only 7 minutes from St. Peter on foot, next to a grocery store and opposite the stop for bus no. 64 which will take you to all important sites in the historic centre.
I stayed at Elvio's place for 2 weeks whilst taking a language course in town and needed something affordable yet not too far from the centre and am happy I chose this place. The room was very spacious, equipped with a sofa, a tv, a big closet, a dresser and a mirror. There was even a little balcony! From the kitchen balcony you can see St. Peter which I thought was very neat. Kitchen, coffee machine, fridge and toaster could be used at all time which is great for somebody who wants to prepare their own meal at times.
Elvio is a very sweet guy who made sure he was there for his guests at all times. Whenever I had a question he replied to my message within a few minutes. All in all he was a pleasant person to get to know. I would love to stay here again when I am back in town!
Elvio is exactly what your looking for in a host. Its our first time in Rome and Elvio kept in contact leading up to the trip making sure we knew directions. He answered every call and email immediately. Once there he made us feel like family. The place is beautiful and very clean. The balcony view is amazing and so close to the Vatican. Elvio continued to go above and beyond as a host during our 2 day stay that we now consider him a friend and hope to visit him here or have him in the States. Do yourself a favor and stay with someone who will take care of your needs and not hand you keys then never see you again.
Elvio is a terrific host! He gave of his time very generously to offer great information about what to visit, where to eat, how to get about and what to do (and how to make proper Italian coffee...!). The flat is spotlessly clean and has lots of character. The bed is comfortable and the area pretty quiet. The view from the balcony is exactly like the photo and in less than five minutes you're in St Peter's Square... The flat is also very near San Pietro station which I'd recommend using to get to and from Fiumincino airport (rather than the bus to the Vatican).
