i am a nice lady,like sports,shopping,reading,etc.
enjoy my day every moment and take care of my family.
Not great experience...the address listed online was incorrect. Once we got that issue resolved (was sent to another address) we were later told that we were not supposed to be there, as the address was listed as university housing.
Huiqin is very welcoming and friendly and I enjoyed my short stay with her and her family. The location is very convenient to Stanford and a reasonable place to crash for a night or two. Palo Alto is a very expensive place to stay, so considering that, the rates for this place are fairly reasonable. The room is as pictured (although the stains I mention below are out of view).
For a balanced review, I do need to mention the negatives... so although the apartment complex in general is very well maintained, the interior of this apartment could use a professional deep clean. The carpets and chair had deep stains and there was a lingering smell of old cigarette smoke in the room- enough to irritate my sinuses. If this hadn't been an issue, I would stay here again. Also, the listing mentioned AC, but I did not see any vents or unit in the room. The unit under the window is a heater as far as I could tell. It didn't bother me for the night I stayed, but if it's important for you, check with the host.
Beautiful complex just down the road from Sand Hill Circle. Huiqin was very friendly and got me anything I needed, though I really just needed to crash for a few hours and grab a shower. For that, it was perfect.
On the flip side, I have used airbnb to book a vacation rental in the past, and this is not a vacation rental. The furnishing was fairly spartan, there was no continental breakfast, and the minibar fees were absurd (that was a joke).
The bottom line is, if you need to crash somewhere while you are in the area, the place is perfectly adequate, and the people are very nice.
The reservation was canceled 13 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The location is great for any Stanford-related business. The room itself is pretty basic, and would benefit from some proper bedding - the sheets don't fit the bed and slide off, and the blankets have no cover. The toilet got clogged from normal usage. Stay here if you're going to be out most of the day.
Minimal, clean, and very quiet at night. I would stay again.
A nice clean place, close to downtown Palo Alto and Stanford campus
Warm hearted, helpful and a great mom. Strongly recommended!
the good - nice people, good location (close to my work) and close enough to the hwy.
the bad - upon checkin, i noticed that the carpet is beyond stained… the carpet in this room needs to be torn out, and replaced with hardwood or another carpet. there were stains upon stains in this room, and small debris on the carpet like it wasn’t cleaned before i arrived. when Huiqin showed me the bathroom, my jaw dropped at how unkept it was. there were used bottles in the space between counter and shower, used tissue on the floor, and unfortunately pubic hair on the toilet and counter, not to mention someone had shaved and left their facial hair on the counter. due to the late checkin time, i stayed the night (this was around 10:30 at night, with a 6am wakeup) and asked Huiqin to reclean the bathroom the next day, which she promptly did. the carpet unfortunately cannot be cleaned easily, and a simple vacuum wouldn’t have fixed things.
the next day, once i could see the room in natural light i realized: this room does NOT look like the pictures posted… the bathroom does not have a small corridor (like the photo) and the bedroom does not look like this photo.
the bed btw, was simply 2 mattresses with a light blanket thrown over it as a “sheet”, hardly what i was expecting.
the only chair in the room needed a towel placed over it... at no point would i want to sit on this due to the stains on the seat.
the final straw came during the weekend when i was contacted by Huiqin to lie to her landlord who was visiting. she asked me to tell him that i’m a friend visiting for a week… which made me feel uncomfortable, as if I was taking part in something fraudulent.
on my last evening, after looking forward to leaving the next day, i had my final bad experience: the "blanket/bedsheet" had shifted and pulled up from the area against the wall... this brought up some lint/dirt from beside the bed in mangled dirt/lint/hair ball i wish i hadn't seen.
everything i explained above and experienced was photographed from day 1 and will be sent to AirBnb for reporting, as I feel I shouldn't have stayed here. As well, the room was photographed on my final morning to record that the room was left in the same condition (unfortunate that I have to do this in the first place)
I learned my lesson with this experience, and will be much more particular when reserving…
i have no idea what room the other visitors stayed in, as this is the worst place i’ve stayed at with AirBnB so far.
The place was just what we expected. Convenient location to Stanford. Clean and comfortable.
