I was born in Oslo, Norway, but have lived in the US since 2001. I am married and have three kids, and we currently live in Manhattan, NY. We lived in St. Paul from 2005 to 2007, and have rented our house to visitors to the Twin Cities ever since.

We spent 4 days at Svein's house in St. Paul. It's a historic home with lots of old world charm. We especially enjoyed the sitting room with the gas fireplace. Svein was a great host, easy to reach and very accommodating. Ray (caretaker) was very helpful as well. We would stay there again.
House is just as described: very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Kitchen is large and well-equipped, backyard patio is private and pleasant, recently remodeled bathroom upstairs is huge. Lots of clean towels and linens provided. Internet, air conditioners, washer/dryer all in very good working order (we used 'em all!). Neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. This was a perfect headquarters for our family's stay during our daughter's wedding; would stay here again in a heartbeat.
My family and I were in St. Paul for my nephew's wedding. Svein's house was a perfect place to stay. Large, well equipped, nicely furnished. Easy walking distance to an organic co-op and several restaurants and a short drive to downtown St. Paul. Svein and his caretaker Ray were both a pleasure to deal with.
The Berg home in St. Paul was ideal for my family of five to enjoy a long Thanksgiving weekend. Their house is exactly as described, beds very comfortable, kitchen fully stocked and room for five grown-ups to spread out. Svein was very prompt in all correspondence. The location is perfect for a family that loves to cook / eat out as much as ours'. St. Paul is a great location for a vacation no matter what the weather - always lots to do. We all look forward to a return visit.
This was our first experience of using AirBnB and we stayed at the BERG House hosted by Svein Berg. After 26+ hours of travel we arrived at the BERG House 1:45am, the coded door lock was perfect and everything inside the home was set properly. We were a party of 8 people and stayed comfortably. Everything at the BERG house was perfect for us and each of the room were prepared very nicely. The kitchen had some coffee along with all amenities , we even made nice breakfasts everyday. The living room has an amazing stereo system and we could listen to music and relax. The Berg house is ideally located with nice restaurants, Bars close by. The Muddy Pig is just a block away and it's amazing place.
Svein is an amazing host and if we would only be happy to stay at this home again.

Beautiful old house in a great location, within walking distance to all the fun stuff on Summit and Grand. Great architectural details and a nice homey feel. The kitchen is large and well set up, and the patio is peaceful and relaxing. Lots of flexible sleeping options, with pocket doors on the living room and another small semi-private office with a fold-out couch. The communication and logistics were all smooth -- they are very experienced hosts, with a hundred five star reviews on another site, and they have the process down pat.
Excellent accommodations with everything needed for a group of five guests!
