Steve was kind enough to wait for me at the apartment when I couldn't find my way there. Although I only saw him once he seemed like a very nice guy. I appreciated the privacy. Having said that, the apartment needs better curtains. Only 2 out of 4 windows have them. There is a building across from the apartment and they can pretty much see everything that's going on inside.
The neighbourhood is pretty safe but I would not recommend coming alone at night. I was once followed by a drunk French guy who smashed a beer bottle right beside me and kept screaming something at me in French.
The Indian restaurant close the apartment is overpriced and their food is not good. There is a very nice burger shop a few blocks away that's really good. They use bread from a local bakery. Speaking of bakeries, there is one on the corner in front of the theatre and it's good. The staff is always friendly.
Wifi was really fast. About 50Mb (website hidden) wasn't working. Dishwasher wasn't working. Toilet leaked water. Couldn't get the oven working.
Security is good. There's a code-activated door at the entrance, then another that opens differently. And finally the door to the apartment.
If you have heavy luggage this apartment will be difficult to get to. It's on the 5th floor, there are no elevators so you have to climb up very narrow winding stairs.
The best thing about this place is its location. It's just close to everything. It took me 20 mins to walk down to the Louvre.
Tip: I struggled to find a good grocery store and found Bio-C-Bon was very good.
The host canceled this reservation 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Nice and functional apartment in a great location. Steve is a very helpful person.
TO ALL, PLEASE READ THIS TO THE END, IT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY AND A BAD EXPERIENCE IN PARIS.
I stayed at this apartment for 9 nights and here are my thoughts on it.
The host, Steve, was helpful in the beginning. He always responded to messages but a few days into the stay his responses were more excuses than responses to issues. The only positive about this rental is the location which is great.
Here are the issues I had while I was there. The apartment is on the 5th floor with no elevator access and a narrow winding stairwell. Check-in was delayed due to the host needing to clean the apartment. Checked-in and the apartment was still not clean, along with the following.
- Dishwasher does not work.
- WiFi did not work during my entire stay there and was provided with the neighbour's WiFi one floor down which constantly disconnected.
- There is no Cable TV.
- Linen: pillow case had multiple tares and was replaced 4 days later by host. Bed sheet had a hole in it that looked like a small cigarette burn.
- There is a small balcony with 3 doors 2 of which do not open as the handles are broken.
- The washroom sink is slow to drain but I have seen worse before.
- All the shelves and all the dishes were covered in dust.
I honestly would not recommend this rental for anyone, unless you really don't care about the money you're spending and what you're getting for it.
It is an extremely comfortable and well-designed studio apartment with an ample kitchen and bathroom.
Steve was incredibly accomodating in everyway.
I would happily rent this apartment again.
Steve was very attentive and prompt whenever we interacted and exchanged emails. The apartment is clean, modern, and in a great central location. I definitely recommend it.
This place was great. Quite spacious for a studio in Paris and the layout was much cleverer than the other studios I've stayed in (eg the bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a kitchen and short hall, which makes it feel less cramped). The area its in is nice and extremely close to multiple metro stations. Staying in the marais or the Latin quarter or something would be nicer but I didn't feel detached from those places/as though I was too far away.
The host was very helpful, seemed to really care about my stay - eg wifi stopped working briefly and he was very punctual in repairing it (and very apologetic about its breaking).
the area was really nice. convenient to go anywhere in Paris.
the room had enough space for one or 2 persons but it had some problems, like tv and internet connections were dead ,only one towel etc. but when I told him about that I could see Steve tried to fix the (website hidden) didn't recover after all but he called the internet company and after a few days he gave me a new wifi and let me use some more towels.the new internet was really slow but it was better than nothing, and the towels were new ones.I recommend this apartment if u like to live in the center of Paris,in a nice, convenient (website hidden) has everything around the area, very nice.but u can not cook in this room as u don't have knifes and dish washer is broken.before deciding to take this room I asked him to make sure if the room has washing machine and curtains for the windows. he said he had both but actually he didn't have curtains for 2 windows ,so I had to cover them with the sofa cover .(otherwise from other rooms, people can see u and u will have sunlights a lot in the morning)the washing machine worked well ,it had dryer too. very convenient.
Nice comfortable apartment in a good neighborhood of the 9th, not far from the Metro and Folies Bergère. I felt very comfortable, very much at home there. Steve was responsive and kind.
All the good things about this place have been said already, but I think I should say the not good things either, so people don't get disappointed as I did.
The place was dirty, covered with dust. Steve said that he could send somebody to clean it, but that is not the point. It's nice to get into a nice and clean place and after getting there, I did not want anybody to get in and clean with all my stuff there and no safe.
Also, it would be nice to have a coffee machine. It doesn't need to be a Nespresso, but any simple thing to be able to make a coffee would be really nice.
The towels were ripped and old. It doesn't cost much to get new ones and it would be so nice. It makes a difference for sure.
Some maintenance should be done on windows, as only one can be opened.
These are just some advices to improve the place, as I have experience in spending vacation in Airbnb places and have never faced this kind of problem.
