This place was great. Quite spacious for a studio in Paris and the layout was much cleverer than the other studios I've stayed in (eg the bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a kitchen and short hall, which makes it feel less cramped). The area its in is nice and extremely close to multiple metro stations. Staying in the marais or the Latin quarter or something would be nicer but I didn't feel detached from those places/as though I was too far away.
The host was very helpful, seemed to really care about my stay - eg wifi stopped working briefly and he was very punctual in repairing it (and very apologetic about its breaking).
the area was really nice. convenient to go anywhere in Paris.
the room had enough space for one or 2 persons but it had some problems, like tv and internet connections were dead ,only one towel etc. but when I told him about that I could see Steve tried to fix the (website hidden) didn't recover after all but he called the internet company and after a few days he gave me a new wifi and let me use some more towels.the new internet was really slow but it was better than nothing, and the towels were new ones.I recommend this apartment if u like to live in the center of Paris,in a nice, convenient (website hidden) has everything around the area, very nice.but u can not cook in this room as u don't have knifes and dish washer is broken.before deciding to take this room I asked him to make sure if the room has washing machine and curtains for the windows. he said he had both but actually he didn't have curtains for 2 windows ,so I had to cover them with the sofa cover .(otherwise from other rooms, people can see u and u will have sunlights a lot in the morning)the washing machine worked well ,it had dryer too. very convenient.
Nice comfortable apartment in a good neighborhood of the 9th, not far from the Metro and Folies Bergère. I felt very comfortable, very much at home there. Steve was responsive and kind.
All the good things about this place have been said already, but I think I should say the not good things either, so people don't get disappointed as I did.
The place was dirty, covered with dust. Steve said that he could send somebody to clean it, but that is not the point. It's nice to get into a nice and clean place and after getting there, I did not want anybody to get in and clean with all my stuff there and no safe.
Also, it would be nice to have a coffee machine. It doesn't need to be a Nespresso, but any simple thing to be able to make a coffee would be really nice.
The towels were ripped and old. It doesn't cost much to get new ones and it would be so nice. It makes a difference for sure.
Some maintenance should be done on windows, as only one can be opened.
These are just some advices to improve the place, as I have experience in spending vacation in Airbnb places and have never faced this kind of problem.
Steve's apartment was exactly as advertised-- a clean studio with everything I needed for a two-week stay.Steve was an attentive host, and communication was superb.. The neighborhood was centrally located with metro stops nearby. The street itself was quiet and near all kinds of restaurants. Highly recommened.
It's my first AirBNB experience and it was really amazing! My flight had to be changed because of the Air France strike so my arrival time was later. Steve was super friendly and nice. He stayed at the apartment to help me with my bags. The apartment is spacious and has an amazing rooftop views. I love the neighborhood. Since I'm there for fashion week, it's super easy to get around and really close to a lot trains. Overall, Steve was a great host. He is very good with replying to texts. I would definitely recommend this studio to my work friends.
Steve's apartment was great, and was exactly as advertised; clean, well located, and a decent size. Steve was very accommodating with check in, working around our incoming flight, and being very punctual as far as check in was concerned. I would stay at this listing again.
Steve was fantastic. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be. The flat is perfect and exactly as described, the area is also great. Easy access to plenty of trains to get anywhere in paris. Would most definitely stay here again. Our luggage was lost and steve insisted on calling the airlines to try and obtain them for us so we could enjoy paris on our vacation. I can't say enough good things about steve!
My girlfriend and I chose to stay in Steve's nice little studio apartment, and we left very happy with our decision. We arrived to Paris later than expected due to train conflicts, but Steve was very understanding and promised to wait at the apartment until we got there. We then got lost for a bit trying to find his place, and once again Steve was nice enough to meet up with us in a more central location to take us to his apartment. He even helped with our bags.
The apartment itself was just what we needed. The living/sleeping area was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was a nice size, leaving room to cook and wash dishes, and the bathroom was large and clean. We were also happy to find out that there were a few channels on the TV that were in English, so when we just wanted to zone out after a long day, we just popped on the tube. And the double balcony windows provides fresh air and a nice little view of the street below.
The location was great for us. For those who don't mind walking, most things are within walking distance. For example, the Louvre is only about a 20 minute walk away, as well as many of the other attractions. We don't mind walking around to take in the sights, so we ended up going everywhere by foot. But if walking isn't your thing, metro stops are only about five minutes way. Very convenient.
My girlfriend and I are vegan, so finding out that in the same building, on the bottom floor, there is a 90% vegan and 100% vegetarian restaurant was a real treat. Even if you're not vegetarian, if you want to try something different, or want to eat less meat and cheese, it's a great choice. It's a Thai/Chinese fusion and we were quite happy with it. We got take out one night and brought it back to our apartment and another night we sat in the restaurant. It's not huge, so sometimes it fills up quick. Everyone was very nice and accommodating.
To add to the joy of vegan and alternative foods, there is an all vegan grocery store, Un Monde Vegan, 1.4 km away. Less than a mile! We stocked up on a lot of vegan goodies there.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay in Steve's apartment. There is one thing to be aware of, and that is that the apartment is on the fifth floor with no elevator. It was no problem for us, we enjoyed the workout, but for those traveling with lots of heavy luggage, take that into consideration.
We only saw Steve the first night, but from our communications, he seemed very easy to get into contact with. There was no issue on our end.
If (when) we come back to Paris, I'll definitely be looking into staying in his place again.
Very nice apartments. Has all the necessary mod cons. Nice view from the window. Every morning, open the window and drank coffee with croissants breathing Parisian air. Great bathroom. Convenient location, 5 minutes to the subway, but walked to the Louvre for 20 minutes. There are supermarkets and cafes. Quiet and clean area. Steve very decent and privetlevyt. Many thanks for hosting.
