I live in Portland and am a midwife. I love cooking and reading. I have two grown children and live with my wife Maria in NE Portland.
I can't live without good food, close companions, dreams of travel, a comfy bed and good stories.

I have absolutely enjoyed my stay here. Elizabeth and Maria are wonderful, kind, and welcoming hosts. The house is clean, and the bed is very comfy. Located very close to a major transit line stop, it is very easy to get around the city. Best AirBnb experience I've had thus far! Honestly, I just don't think you will find a better arrangement.
Elizabeth and Maria's place was by far the best airbnb I've stayed in. I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable in their home. I was invited to have dinner on my second day and we were able to chat and get to know each other. Along with the great dinner breakfast is available in the morning...organic yogurt, eggs, granola, bread. The room was also very comfortable with a nice size bed, desk, and closet space. Getting into the city was easy with bus lines right down the street. I would certainly stay with Elizabeth and Maria again.
Elizabeth and Maria were great hosts. They met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of their home and invited us to make use of the kitchen and other public areas, and to become friends with their (weird) cats! They made dinner for us one night and joined us out another time. They shared their parties and family time with us when we were available. In other words, it is very homey. Our room was a bit small, but Elizabeth had specifically addressed that topic before we decided and we agreed that it would be acceptable, and it certainly was. Anything we needed, we were free to ask either Elizabeth or Maria and if they didn't have it or know the answer, they directed us to someone who did/could. Very nice stay. I feel that we have friends in Portland.
The neighborhood is rather close to the airport but I was surprised at the lack of airport noise. We had our own car and were able to drive downtown in around 15 minutes (rush hour maybe 25 minutes) but the bus is a block away. It is a quiet residential neighborhood with some commercial properties, especially toward a busy street nearby.
I would recommend a stay with Elizabeth and Maria. They will make you feel at home, including the cats on your bed if you want them, and Elizabeth is a terrific cook. If you want to do your own cooking, the kitchen is stocked with all the equipment you'll need. And the granola Elizabeth mentions, it is the best I've ever eaten!
Elizabeth and Maria are amazing hosts. They're both excellent company and very good people to stay with. The house always smells like something delicious Elizabeth is cooking and they're both great to chat with. Being new to the area, they were super helpful in getting me acquainted with the neighborhood and just very fun ladies to chat with. The room is nice and cozy; perfect for one or two guests. And it's easy access to anywhere in the city. You can't go wrong with Elizabeth and Maria, and I'll surely miss their company!
We will miss you Ashley! Come visit anytime!
Elizabeth and Maria were so warm and welcoming! Their granola was crunchy and delicious, and their two kitties were super sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and spending time with them. The neighborhood, Cully, is tucked away in Northeast Portland, but public transportation (Lines 71 & 72) were very close to their home, which was convenient. It's just a short bus ride away to Beaumont, Hollywood and the Alberta Arts District. The home itself was very cute, full of light, clean and happy. I would highly recommend staying with them!
Elizabeth is a lovely guest! I hope she will stay with me again when when she returns to the area.
