Hi, I'm an airbnb host in Asheville, NC looking to spend some time at Mt. Shasta and around SF
Sue was a great host and everything was as I thought it would be when we arrived. We felt safe leaving our belongings when we went out and were comfortable when we stayed in. The beds were well made and had plenty of clean pillows and sheets. The refrigerator was stocked with enough to get us through the first morning and there was plenty of cooking equipment to make small meals and, more importantly, brew coffee. There were three beds and enough extra room to spread out a bit. The view are excellent and walking around the nearby properties, we came across cats, horses, and llamas. The place is pretty well hidden, though, so please read Sue's directions if you come. The road leading up to the house is also only half-paved and is rough in spots; so if you're not in a truck, make sure your vehicle has some clearance. My Accord did just fine if I took it slow. If you plan on seeing the surrounding areas, know that the city is about a 15 minute drive away. If you're going to hike in Pisgah National Forest or Mt. Mitchell, those are both about an hour or more away on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Sue has a wonderful place. Such a relaxing weekend away in the mountains with such a wonderful view. I enjoyed sitting on the screen porch and looking out at the beauty of the mountains. Thanks, Sue!
Sue's mountain home and hospitality exceeded our expectations. The rental is very spacious, the views are magnificent, and her home is easy to find using the directions she provides. Her home was very clean, and filled with every amenity you might need during your stay (including wi-fi!). Her kitchen is filled with complimentary high quality organic breakfast foods and coffee/cream. While her facilities were top-notch, it was her hospitality that impressed us the most. There was an unexpected snow storm during our stay, and Sue went the extra mile to keep us advised of the road conditions and even offered to prepare meals for us if we found ourselves snowed in. We would highly recommend Sue's place to others, and hope that our travels bring us back there again soon!
I can't emphasize enough how much we enjoyed staying at this location. The pictures do not do it justice, the views and atmosphere are truly stunning. Sue was a wonderful host and provided us with a well-stocked kitchen full of breakfast goods. The location was also ideal in that is was only about 15 miles from downtown Asheville, and it was also easy to access the Blue Ridge Parkway. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to anyone!
Very cute and comfortable place! Convenient to Claxton Farms where we went for a wedding. The kitchenette with all the breakfast food was perfect and awesome. I recommend first finding this place during the day as opposed to night when we did. We got a little confused because it gets so dark at night but once we found it, it was great. Plenty of space for two couples.
Beautiful location--hostess very accommodating-- couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations-- don't rely on gps, read and follow Sue's directions to her house.
Beautiful home! I came with my boyfriend and family for a wedding. The grounds are incredible and Sue had stocked the fridge for us! Absolutely lovely. Would definitely recommend if you're in the Asheville area
Sue's place was perfect. We had the feeling we were away from it all and waking up to that beautiful view started off each day on a serene note. We highly recommend a stay here.
Thank you for sharing your home with us. Sue was a great host. Everything we needed was provided. It was comfortable, peaceful, and the views were awesome. We really enjoyed our stay.
We really had a nice, quiet , stress-free time at Sue's place-watching clouds form over the mountains, chasing butterflies, and letting our mind's wander for a few days. The place was clean and comfy, with a beautiful view and convenient location to Asheville and Weaverville. We had never visited Weaverville, and highly recommend the Well Bred bakery (try the Swedish creams), the Jack of Hearts pub and the Stony Knob cafe, as well as a great nearby hike up to Rattlesnake Lodge. Only regret-we never got to meet our hostess!
Great guest, amazing person! Thank you so much Sue for staying with us at the Dreamcatcher!
It was great having Sue stay in the guest suite for a month. Come back soon!
Sue was a great guest. As a former airbnb host, she knows how to be the perfect guest!
Sue is quiet and reserved. She is polite, very mindful of others and easy going. We hardly ever know if Sue was home, she was that quiet. I recommend Sue to everyone able to host her.
Sue was a perfect guest, she communicated well, respected our space, took care of our apartment and left it in just the right order. We would of course welcome Sue back any time.
I would not host Sue in my apartment in the future. She did not communicate her allergies to scents and then was disappointed to find that we had not washed the sheets in scent free detergent. Not to mention that other scents in the home bothered her (again that we were not made of aware of until she reviewed us). She also gave us a lower rating because of the limited parking in San Francisco. Something that is completely out of our control. Had she inquired with us about parking prior to her arrival; we would have been more than happy to inform her of what the parking situations are like in this city. Again, all her frustrations/comments were never shared with us until she reviewed us. We would have appreciated communication around these issues while she was staying here and not after the fact. We've been hosting for a year and have never had such a negative experience with a guest. Truly unfortunate.
Response from Sue:
Regretfully Lupe was upset that I turned out to be sensitive to perfumed sheets and that I found the parking situation at her location unacceptable. I was a good guest, nonetheless.
Sue was quite tired when she arrived here and seemed to enjoy being alone to have a place to recover.
